This week the challenge over at the Allsorts Challenge blog is Ladies and Girls, in celebration of International Woman's Day. For my card I've used three different Tim Holtz stamp sets, which I will admit to not having used these stamps before either. I stamped the cat walk lady first and then made a mask and covered her before stamping the Paris Cityscape in the background and the sentiment at the bottom. Next I blended some distress inks across the scene' I then took a paint brush and some tea dye ink and painted the city and added a few bright coloured blobs at the edges to represent flowers. Finally I coloured the lady with promarkers and went around the edge with a black promarker. I rummaged in the scrap box and found some holographic card that matched the colour of the dress for the matting.

Tulips for Spring, Nature and Mother's Day
I've got a fairly busy month this month, so I made my mother's day card early. Then I realised that it covers two challenges as well. Spring Inspiration at the Allsorts Challenge blog and also Close To Nature at the Stamping Sensations Challenge blog. As my Mum is not on the Internet, I think I'm fairly safe posting this on here today. I've used one of my favourite Chocolate Baroque stamps from The Year Of Stamping collection for my card. The stamp comes in two sizes and for this card I used the largest which is about 6x6 in size. I stamped with Memento Black Onyx ink then coloured with promarkers. I then took a separate piece of white card stock and blended distress inks in the colours of the tulips. Then I took a swirl stamp also from one of the Chocolate Baroque sets and over stamped in two different shades of green. Before sticking to an 8x8 base card I placed a ribbon around the centre of the card then added a large bow and a flourish from a Marianne die. The tulips were stuck on with foam tape and the sentiment was made using the PC, after printing and cutting to size I went around the outside with a black marker.

Especially For You
My card today is for two challenges, CD Sunday which is Punch It Out (using either punches or dies) and Pixies Snippets Playground which is as always to use snippets and scraps. I started with a 6x6 white card base and a left over piece of backing paper which was from a Crafters Companion CD (sorry I can't remember which one). Next from the scraps box I die cut a spellbinders die in silver a circle with decal edge and also a plain white circle which I stamped the sentiment "Especially For You" on to it. Then from the front of this months Tattered Lace Magazine I took this beautiful die and cut in white card then coloured using promarkers before putting it onto the white circle. Finally in the back of my cupboard I found some flowers that went with the colours I've used. I know that I bought them from Joanna Sheen's website many years ago but can't remember who made them.

Strawberry Delight
Today my card is one that has been made for a little girl who's birthday is in a couple of weeks time. I know that her mummy and daddy don't read this blog so I'm quite safe putting it on here now. I love Heartfelt Creations Dies and Stamps and very often buy the complete package when it is released and this one - Berry Cafe - was no exception. I've used part of a 12x12 background sheet from the paper pad and some silver mirri card on an 8x8 card base. Then I stamped and embossed the images and after cutting them out coloured with pro-markers. Finally I added her name and age using dies from spellbinders.
I would like to enter this into the Creative Fingers Challenge which is anything goes.
Also Artistic Inspirations which is anything goes.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

While Shepherds Watched.....
This week has flown by, I can't believe that it's Friday already. I have a card to share today that I made earlier this week using this stamp from Chocolate Baroque off the Child is Born stamp sheet. On my PC I had this down loadable sheet music for While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night, so I faded the image and then printed it off and stamped over the top. I coloured with promarkers and then went over the background with distress inks. I then distressed the edges with a Tim Holtz distress tool before mounting onto some mid blue card. Finally I mounted onto an A5 pale blue card base. I felt that it didn't need any more embellishments or sentiments added, so for me this is a fairly CAS card.
I'm going to enter this card into this months challenge over on the Stamping Sensations blog which
this month is Christmas.

Craft A Scene - Forest Animals
I can't believe that we are nearly half way through the year, it's flown by so far. As it's the beginning of a new month, it's time for a new challenge at Craft A Scene, and this month we are asking that you make a scene using Forest Animals from the area/country you live in. I've made this card using this lovely stamp of a Badger from Joanna Sheen's Jayne Netley Mayhew collection, the trees and grasses are from Stampscapes. I started by stamping and masking the Badger, then I stamped the trees and masked them. Using soft brushes and Adirondack ink pads I graduated the colours through from green, yellows to blues, then removed the masks. I then added a some dark gray promarkers to the Badger just to deepen the colour of the black in his coat. The grasses were stamped using peeled paint distress ink, and I added a little brown promarker as shadow under the badger. Finally I've added a little bio on the European Badger. I know that these are in our area, as very early one morning when returning home after a trip out, one walk across the road in front of our car, I'm glad to say we were not going very fast and we were able to get a good look at him.
