Recipes for Happy Families

Today I thought that I would show you a card that I have made using the Flower Soft Recipes for Happy Families, which was launch today on Create and Craft. I bought mine a couple of weeks ago when it was launched on the Flower Soft Website. There are some wonderful images on the disc, and as well as decoupage there are also pyramids and toppers, backing papers that match the images and sentiments. I have not used any flowers soft on this card. I think that it looks great without it. On another note altogether, I was sitting here earlier minding my own business while hubby is upstairs removing a radiator in readiness for decorating tomorrow, when I started to get wet. He tells me the valve split as he was removing the radiator, and I am glad to say that the dripping has now stopped. I did panic for a few minutes as it was over the PC, not the easiest of things to pick up and move.

Hope you are all having a wonderful sunday.

Jayne Nestorenko stamp

Well I did not do well with trying to post everyday. But I think I managed a bit better than last time.

Today I thought that I would show you a card that I made using the New Cute Companions stamps by Jayne Nestorenko. I have used Helene for this, but I cut away her wings and the seat that she was sat on. She is coloured using pro markers, and the background of the circle is coloured using distress inks. For the backing paper I made a plain sheet in My Craft Studio. So far I have not added a sentiment, this I can do later when I know who I am going to sent it to.

Colin Car

When I started this blog I intended to post to it every day, or at least every other day. I don't know what went wrong, but I do mean to try harder.

Today I would like to show you the Arty Farty, Colin Car that I made as a gift to my daughters best friend Sophie and her very new husband Domonic who tied the knot yesterday. What wonderful weather they had. For the car I used Snow white centura pearl card stock from Crafters Companion, and black card stock. I then used the dashboard, front grill and white wheels that are in the add on pack, that goes with the Colin Car template. Then I used mulberry roses for the seat and a horseshoe on the front with hearts on the back, these were cake decorations. I was pleased with the end result and the bride and groom loved it. This is a photo of the Bride and Groom cutting the cake As well as the pictured cake, which is in the shape of a heart, there were cupcakes as well.

And the final photo is a picture of my wonderful daughter and her partner David. We are hoping that this might make them decide it's time to tie the knot!!

Golden Wedding Anniversary

Today I have been making a card for my Uncle and Aunt who celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary at the end of the month. For this I used the Tall stories and Open Hearts board by the Glitter Girls (I think I have all of their boards to date). I used cream and gold card stock. After cutting out all of the pieces, I edged it with gold glitter. Then made the toppers with mulberry roses for one side and put the names on the other. I also printed a four line verse out, using one line for each heart on the reverse inside(hope that makes sense).

Cute Companions Wedding Card

I thought I would share with you the Card that I have been working on for the last couple of days. My daughter is to be bridesmaid to her best friend on Saturday 22nd May and I have had the job of making the card.

The size of the card is A4, the mice are from the Summer Stories and the Original stamp sets. I coloured these with water colour pencils. The Church is from Winter Tales CD, and the backing paper from the original CD. I disguised the holly that decorates the outside of the church with ribbon and flowers. The flowers down the sides were made with some punches that I brought a long time ago from Create and Craft. Then I used mock brads in the corners and the flower embellishments were made with Nellie Snellen flower and emboss punches. The greeting was one that I made myself with a foil embosser.

I've done it at last!!!

Hi, my name is Sue. I have been crafting most of my life in one form or another. From knitting and dress making, cross stitch to embroidery. I have been card making for about 10 years. I started by making cards with the embroideries that I made on my embroidery machine. I stumbled upon Create and Craft just as it launched and discovered paper crafts. Since then I have been trying all sorts of different ways of making cards. After visiting other peoples blogs for at least 2-3 years and looking at all the beautiful Cards and works of art that have been created, I have finally created a blog of my own. It is something that I have been thinking about for about 2 years, I did not realise that it was so easy. Well at least as far as setting it up, it will be a case of learning as I go along I think. As yet I do not know how to add a link. I am adding a card that I made for my Sister-in-law's birthday in April. I used Crafters Companion Flower Fairies and Dimension Forth plain alphabet.
