Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge 8

Yesterday I had put colour onto an piece of card for the background of this card for the Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge this month, without really knowing what stamps I would use. Then the postman came and brought me my new stamps that I ordered at the end on last week. As soon as I saw the Butterfly Dress stamp I knew that this was the one I was going to use. I had a rummage in my cupboard as I knew there were some stamps that would go with the flowers on the dress, then over stamped using the same colours I had made the backing paper with. The colours used were Cracked Pistachio, Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concorde distress inks. Next I stamped out the image a couple of times and cut one out using a grand circle spellbinders die then cut another using some purple card and finally a decorative circle also from spellbinders in mirri card.

I layered my backing paper onto some more purple card and also some gold mirri card, added some ribbon around the centre of the card putting it all onto an 8x8 white card base. I then coloured the image using distress pens in matching colours also adding peacock feathers to the colour used for the butterflies. Then on my second image I only coloured the some of the butterflies before cutting these out and adding them to the main image.

Finally I popped the image onto the card, added a bow in matching ribbon, added some card candy and die cut sentiment. I have both my Sister's and Sister-in-laws birthday in a few days time, just need to make my mind up who gets this one.

Add Some Gems

This month the challenge over on the Lavinia blog is Add Some Gems. For my card I've used this lovely stamp with the little girl sharing her secrets with the fairy, that I like to think is at the bottom of her garden. First I inked my background and then stamped my foliage stamps leaving the middle lighter. After stamping the girl and sentiment I added some stars stamped with a Stampin Up stamp pad that shimmers (it's difficult to see in the photo) and added liquid pearls to the centres, dusting them with glamour dust before they set. Finally I added some gems to the flowers around the fairy.

I cant believe that I've managed to blog two days on the trot, bet I can't keep it up.

Gone Fishing

It's my husbands birthday next month, and now that he has retired I find it difficult to make his card as he can wander into my craft room at any time time. So yesterday while he was fishing I set to and made his card, it was great to have no interruptions. I've used several different stamp sets to make this card, including Stampscapes, Inkylicious and Woodware. I started by making a backing paper using distress inks to add colour to the paper and then again for the over stamping. Next I created my scene stamping in black memento ink first and than adding the colour with my brushes again using Distress Inks. The sentiment was from an Inkylicious set, this along with the scene were popped onto some silver mirri card (somehow it looks more gold in the photo). Finally I cut out To My Perfect Husband which was from a tonic die, this I cut out in black and in silver mirri card and offset one over the other to create a shadow.

I'm going to enter this into the Stamping Sensations Challenge, which this month is One For The Guys.

For A Special Friend

My Mum and her neighbour have been friends for many, many years (since I was a very young child). When I gave my Mum one of these boxes for Christmas she said to me would I make her one to give to her friend. As her Birthday is fast approaching I settled down at the beginning of the week to decorate it. The colours in her room are lilac and Purple so I've stuck to those colours with this. The papers are printed using the Artylicious Essence of Nature CD, and the flowers are Arianna Blooms. The sentiment is from Fiskers and cut out using a spellbinders die.

I know that my Mum loved her box, I'm hoping her friend likes this one.

Mothers Day

With Mothers Day fast approaching I got on and made a card for my Mum. After buying these wonderful stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations, I stamped and cut out loads before thinking about how to put them together. The stamps have a wonderful paper pad that came with them but after buying a collection of embossing folders from Crafters Companion I thought I would try and combine the two. Although the embossing folder I've used is like Parquet flooring, I also thought it looked like fence panels. So with this in mind I embossed some craft card and then distressed with Vintage Photo, going around the edges with renaissance gold gilding wax. Next I coloured the stamped and die cut pieces with spectrum noir pencils, I also edged the flowers with Crystal Stickles to give it a bit of a sparkle, they were then all shaped with a large ball tool before placing onto the card base. I finished using die cuts from Tonic which I cut out of Gold mirri card and black card, placing the gold over the black to give it a bit of a shadow.

Tulips

The other day I received my new stamps from the Chocolate Baroque Stamp Club and decided it to ink them before I put them away. So using the small stamp and Versafine Black Onyx I stamped out twice onto some smooth card stock, and coloured them in using Spectrum Noir pencils. The first I coloured using the colours from the current Chocolate Baroque Challenge and then made a background for it using Distress Inks in co-ordinating colours. Then I added a sentiment the from new Thinking Of You sentiments and a ribbon to match. This will be sent out today to a friend who has just received some very bad news.

The second I coloured in shades of red and I made a background using Distress Inks in Lipstick Red and Abandoned Coral, I overstamped in Fired Brick Distress Ink with a swirl from the Patchwork Butterflies stamp set. This time I added a sentiment from the new Card Sentiments stamps. Both cards were made using 5x5 card Bases.

I would also like to enter the top card into the current Chocolate Baroque Challenge.

Just need to get the large stamp out and ink that one now.

Everything Stops For Tea

The current challenge over on the CD Sunday blog is Everything Stops For Tea. So when I had to make an Anniversary card for FIL to send to someone I made a card around this theme. I hope I will be forgiven, as my cup does not hold tea but flowers instead. It was a very flat card so it could go through the post easily, the flowers being the smallest on a set of four from Crealies. I've matched them to the backing paper which were blue with yellow centres and added a ribbon the same colour as the flowers in the cup. The Cd that I used for this card was Jane Shasky From The Heart Of The Garden.
