Another week has past before I have managed to post again. I have been busy with samples but cannot share these with you for a few days yet, so I thought I would show you this card that I made for My mother's next door neighbour who was 70 recently. We moved next door when I was 8 years old (I reached 50 this year) so she has been like a member of my family for so long. I used Card Creations plus Edwardian Ladies Cd for this card. I printed the 8 X 8 base card onto Centura Pearl from Crafters Companion, and cut out the wording with my Cricut using the Plantin School book cartridge. Then added a couple of flowers from my stash.
It's been really miserable here today, but hubby and I went out to lunch with friends that we have not seen for a while, so it turned out really nice.
Thank you for taking the time to visit.

Flower Fairy
I don't think that I am going to be one of these people that blog everyday as it's been 2 weeks since I last blogged. I also need to learn how to add links then maybe I can take part in a couple of challenges. Today I thought that I would show you a card that I made using the Crafters Companion Flower Fairies Discs. I love the Flower Fairies and always try to have a couple of cards made.
I used 2 sheets of plain white card to make a 8X8 card base, matted and layered using silver mirri card and 2 sheet of backing paper printed from the CD. The topper was decoupaged but I cut the first layer using a spellbinders nestie, then added the layers. To finish I added some silver corner peel offs and a bit of pink organza ribbon. Inside I used another sheet of backing paper and then added the right verse for this fairy (The Candy Tuft Fairy) from the Mary Cicely Barker books. It will then do for anyone from child to adult for any occasion.
The sun is shinning here in Hampshire today, it's cold outside but lovely sitting inside by the window, you could pretend that it's Summer.
Thank you for taking the time to look.

18th Birthday
This past week has been a very busy one for me as hubby and I celebrated our Pearl Wedding Anniversary, my eldest Niece was 20, my youngest Niece was 18 and my Daughter 27. Next week it's my Great Niece's 3rd birthday. Today I thought I would show you what I made for my Niece who was 18. I want to call it a card but it's not. When I went to a show at Farnbourgh earlier this year I bought a template for this display box. The images inside the box were from MCS Deco Follies (I love this CD). I built up the picture in MCS placing figures onto a background, I then printed the background without the figures and cut out the curtains and decoupaged them so that it looked as if they were further back in the room. I then printed the 2 figures in the foreground 4 times onto decoupage paper and cut them out. I then made a small cube from card to mount them onto so they were further forward than the rest, giving the impression that you would be looking in onto a party.
I used some gold pearly card for the box and popped a couple of peel offs on to it.
My Niece loved it I'm glad to say.
Thank you for looking.

Sister Card
Today I thought that I would show you the card that I have made for my Son to give to his sister tomorrow. I love the images on this CD, it's from Shoes in Bloom from Ooh La La Creations. I printed 2 of the backing papers and 1 topper then mounted it onto red mirri card. I punched a border with a Martha Stewart deep edge punch, added a couple of roses with a touch of stickles. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Daughter's Birthday
Yesterday on Create and Craft The Glitter Girls launched a new product called Sparklessence and Velvet Touch Kit. It looked really good but at £29.99 a little bit more than I would like to pay at the moment. However as I watch on, thoughts running through my mind, a light bulb suddenly came on, I have a high tack double sided tape and 2 boxes with glitter in. I also have a foiling machine, so had odd bits of foil in a box. Below is my own take on the Glitter Girls sparkle. As It is my Daughters Birthday this Sunday I had already started the card below, so rather than adding a ribbon to the side, I added a little bit of bling. I'm pleased with the result that I got. I used the Art Deco Card Creations plus Cd for this card, and my Nellie Snellen punches for the flowers. I think I am fairly safe that my Daughter will not be looking at my blog before her birthday.
Thank you for looking, I'm off to have a rummage in the cupboards to see what else I have that can be used.

MCS 3rd Birthday Samples
Last night saw the launch of the new My Craft Studio 3rd Birthday collection. I am very lucky to be on the Sample making team for My Craft Studio. Below are the samples that I made, they were all made from the Nursery Rhymes CD.
This first one I made as a gift for a baby using the images from Monday's Child, cutting them with a spellbinders die and mounting onto a large shape the same. Then using ribbon joined them altogether so they could be hung on a wall in a Nursery. Below are 2 of the images. On the reverse of each picture is the right line of the verse.
The next 2 pictures show an expanding book with the verse on the cover, then 1 picture and the right line of the verse each page.
This next image was a No Stamp Required image of Tuesday's Child. I made this card as a birth congrats for a girl. It was coloured with Promarkers, cut out with a Nellie Snellen die, and coloured around the edges with distress inks. Like the card above this card has been made using a No Stamp Required image, this time Thursday's Child. Again coloured with Promarkers. This one for the birth of a boy. This next sample is a gift of notelets. I decorated the outside with backing papers from the disc, the words were cut using my Cricut and the Plantin cartridge, then I used some flowers from my stash. The last sample is made using a topper that is made up of all of the images from the rhyme. I printed it onto acetate the glittered from behind after running it through the Zyron machine. I added a couple of swirls again cut with the Cricut, a ribbon and three Roses that I made using a punch with 6 petals. I was very pleased with the roses as it was the first time I had tried making them.
Now that my Holidays are over and my sample making is done, I am hoping to have some more time to do so crafting (and blogging) for me. I need to start making Christmas Cards, Someone said today that there are 90 days left to Christmas, and I'm sure they will fly by.
