April Rudolph Days

Nearly the end of April already and time again for the Rudolph Days Challenge. I was lucky enough to go to a Craft Show at Farnbough at the end of February, before social distancing began. I saw the die and stamp that I have used for this card on a very similar card on one of the stalls there. The die is from Precious Marieke and called Winter Flowers and the Stamp was from Nellie Snellen stamps called Deer In The Forest. I started by cutting out my frames 4 in silver mirri card and 4 in gold mirri card I then cut out 8 pieces of white card the same size as the frame. Then using a stamp press I stamped with black ink all 8 pieces the same. I then took some double sided sticky sheets and again cut them to the same size as the frames and stuck one side to the stamped image. I then removed the other side of the double sided sticky sheet and placed the frame over the top then covered the whole topper in irridescent clear glitter, this then gives the whole scene a frosty/misty look. To finish I used an A5 white card base and a sentiment die from Sue Wilson. They were really quite easy to make. As normal Maureen has got a wonderful prize for one lucky person to be picked at random. So do go and take a look at the inspiration for you this month and even join in with the fun, you can start your stash for this coming December or add to one you have already started.

St Georges Day

As well as being St Georges Day today is also Hubby's birthday. Here are two of the cards that I made for him, the top one is from me and the bottom one is from his Dad. For the top one I used one of the newer releases from Pink Ink, I stamped the Elephant and then masked with fluid before spraying the background with Sprinky inks from Inkylicious. When it was dry I placed a stencil over and inked through with a similer colour. I coloured the Elephant with alcohol markers after rubbing away the masking fluid.

The bottom card was made using dies and papers from The Paper and Wood collection I bought from Create and Craft some time ago. The background was from the USB that came with the Decoupage Collection in the last post and the sentiment is from Crafters Companion.

Flowers

My card today is for the Allsorts Challenge which this week is Flowers and/or Showers. For me it has to be Flowers all the way and I used the new Tattered Lace Collection Picture Decoupage. I had great fun making this card using the USB for the backing paper and beautiful base dies before choosing which colour way to use. The sentiment die is from one of the The Paper Boutique collections. As this was New and Unused I am going to pop over to the NBUS challenge as well, all that they ask is that you use something that is new and unused before, everthing on this card qualifies.

More Over The Rainbow

While making my background for my previous rainbow card I coloured an A4 sheet and cut it to size so floating around my workspace was the left over card. As it was already coloured in rainbow colours I've made it into another card to enter into the Stamping Sensations Challenge this month. Again I reached for the Lavinia stamps for this card. I'm sure it will bring a smile to someones face.

I still have two narrower off cuts left to use up somehow.

Happy Easter And Happy Birthday Sis

Today is not only Easter Sunday but also my sisters Birthday. A day she will spend on her own as both her Daughters are grown and moved away. I made this card for her using the Country Cottage Collection from Heartfelt Creations, this is the second outing for this gorgeous stamp and die set (I think this is going to be a favourite of mine) but this time in a different colourway. Hubby played postman and drove the few miles between our houses and popped it through her letterbox. She's been working since the self isolating began as she works in a school and is part of the team keeping things going for the keyworkers children. I'm going to enter this card into the Penny Black challenge this month which is Anything Goes.

Happy Easter to you all.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

I belong to a small group call the UK Stampers Network, which is an exchange club. We exchange things like ATC's, Word Books, RAK cards, Inchies and Birthday cards. Every so often we have a list go out where you just send a card to the person below you on the list. This card was made for a list that has just been put out, it is basically to cheer up the person that you are sending the card to. My card is now winging it way to the person who was below me on the list and I think I'm fairly safe in saying that she does not visit my blog. I started by covering an A4 sheet of card with the colours of the rainbow and then I got out my new Lavinia stamps and had a play. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can all sit together again like the hare's on the card and have a good gossip and catch up. I'm entering my card into the challenge over on the Stamping Sensations challenge blog this month which is Somewhere Over The Rainbow (I'll be singing that for the rest of the day now)'

Something New

I've been a bit quiet the last few days, my mojo did go walk about for a while but I'm also working on something that I can't show you at the moment. My card today was made a the beginning of the week for my mum's good friend and nextdoor neighbour who turned 80 on Thursday. I then popped out and put it through her door so she would have it for her Birthday. I made it using Heartfelt Creations Country Cottage Collection for the Hydrangea and I used the Tea Time Collection for the backing papers. The stamp and Dies on the card where used for the first time so just right for entering this weeks challenge over at the Allsorts Challenge Blog, who are asking for Something Old, Something New and also the NBUS challenge which is a new challenge blog (NBUS stands Never Before Used Stuff). Previously this challenge has been held but through someones personal blog, now it has been set up as a challege blog. You just need to use something that has previously not been used, I'm sure that there are lots of us using unused stash at the moment.
