CD Sunday - Awash With Flowers

I've just returned from taking my Mum on holiday to Devon for a week, and I'm so glad that we went last week, now that the bad weather seems to have settled in for the next few days. We had lovely weather while we were there, but had to return home a couple of days early as we had a small family emergency, but really enjoyed the time away that we did have. With the awful rain we had yesterday, the challenge over on the CD Sunday blog was a nice way to cheer the day. I spent some time going through my CDs before deciding to use From The Heart Of The Garden, Jayne Shaskey, a Joanna Sheen CD, for my card. I love Hydrangeas, you get a bunch of flowers from just one bloom, so it was my choice of flower for the challenge. I've used an A5 white card base to start the card, and printed off the sheet of toppers and the matching backing sheet. The backing sheet has the flower from the topper echoed in the corner, so when I cut the sheet to size I made sure that the flower sat in the corner. I mounted the backing sheet and the topper onto some matt silver mirri card, and used some foam pads when placing the topper. I've used some blue flat backed pearls on two of the corners and a double bow onto the corner of the topper. Finally I've added a couple of butterflies punched from a Martha Stewart punch, and coloured with cut and dry foam and distress inks that were remaining within the foam, I just blended together colours that were within the backing paper onto the butterflies, and added some smaller blue flat backed pearls down the middles.

Thank you for taking the time to look, and you kind comments which are always appreciated.

Sue

Gorgeous Sue ! I love the soft blues and your layers. Hydrangeas are one of my favourtie flowers too. The butterflies & beautiful bow set it off so well ! Sorry to hear that the weather has taken a wrong turn. It's suddenly quite cool here, but I'm loving it after such a long hot summer. Have a great week, Shirleyxx

This is beautiful Sue. I love hydrangeas too and have missed them this year as I had a few dozen in the last garden I had. This card is a lovely reminder for me - as well as being a super card.
