Trees, Trees, Trees

The theme for September over on the Craft A Scene blog is Trees, Trees, Trees. This was such a good excuse for me to get my fairy stamps out of the cupboard. I started with a plain white piece of card which I then coloured using my Sprinky sprays, distress stains by placing the colour onto my cutting mat and spraying with water, then placing the card downwards into the colour. I can normally colour 2-3 pieces of card this way, and they are normally all slightly different. Next I oversprayed the card with gold glimmer mist and left to dry. Next using the new Little Bit Scenic pinescape stamps by Sheena Douglas, I stamped the trees across the scene and embossed with Black Glint WOW embossing powder, I then smudged a little Forest Moss distress ink under them to give them some ground to stand on. Next I stamped the Fairy from Lavinia Stamps again embossing with black glint, and placing a shadow beneath the fairy. The bird in the fairies hand is another stamp from the Little Bit Scenic range. The sentiment is from Flowersoft which is embossed with brass sparkle embossing powder (unfortunately it has not shown up very well in the photo). Then using the foliage stamp from the flowersoft sentiment collection I stamped around the bottom of the scene. I finished it all off by going around the green parts of the image with  peeled paint distress ink and the top with picked raspberry distress ink. I placed the image onto some black card and then placed this onto a pale pink centura card base and added a ribbon down the side.

Thank you for taking the time to look, and you kind comments which are always appreciated.

Wow Sue ! Stunning creation with a beautiful scene. As Claire says above, you've created a lot of depth with the different inks and techniques. I enjoyed reading how you created this scene, LOVE it ! Everytime I see you use a Lavinia Faerie stamp I think I need to order some. I'm going to check them out right now ! Awesome work !

I hope your week is going well, I'm just back from lunch with a close friend and ate a huge piece of chocolate mousse cake for dessert. I feel like I might blow up, but it was delicious! Must get out into the gardens to work it off :) Shirley x
