CD Sunday - Travels Abroad

Normally by 8.00 a.m. I have already posted the new CD Sunday card, but this week I must apologise as I'm a little late (and to think I had an extra hour in bed too). I was asked if I would take my cards along to a local Christmas Craft Fayre yesterday. So having been busy all week getting ready all yesterday morning while hubby was walking the dog, I started loading the car. I was in and out of the front door with arm loads of stuff when my ankle just gave way and I found my self on the wet floor outside the front door. With no hubby to help me up, and my ankle shouting at me with pain, I managed to get back in doors. Rather shaken and with a throbbing ankle, I got changed out of the wet things and with hubby helping to load the car, driving me to the venue and helping set up I settled in for the day. It was while sitting waiting for the first customers to arrive through the door that I discovered I had somehow managed to hurt the knee of my other leg. Anyway I had a good day, but on getting home I was in so much pain from my knee (the ankle has paled into insignificance by now) instead of getting on and scheduling my post, I sat with my leg up. So here I am Sunday morning, still in pain from the knee, posting this a little late.

This weeks theme has been chosen by Christine, and it's Travels Abroad. It's going to be great to see where in the world you are all going to take this week, the design team along with guest Wynn have made some great cards to inspire you so do pop over to the blog and take a look. For my card I've used Joanna Sheen's Tales Of The Orient, and a beautiful Japanese garden. I started with an A5 white card base, and some burgundy card for matting. The matching backing paper had a beautiful border on it which I cut off and matted up separately. I matted the topper onto white and then burgundy card, added some matching card candy and some flowers from my stash. The sentiment can wait until I've decided who will receive the card.

Thanks for taking the time to look, and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

Sue

Goodness that's a CD I've not visited for a long time - beautiful card for the theme. So sorry to hear about your mishap yesterday - hope the knee and ankle don't cause you too much trouble - take it easy.

Beautiful Japanese garden images & design Sue. I'm sorry to hear about your fall, it reminds me of last June when I hurt my knee and hand. I hope you heal faster than I did. Will you have your knee looked at by the docs? Take care of yourself, I hope you heal soon, Shirleyx

Ouch. These things happen so quickly you usually wonder how it happened. Hope your knee and ankle recover quickly.
Super image and a lovely card Sue. I love burgundy but hardly ever think to use it.

Oh Sue I hope you haven't done any real damage and have just knocked your knee, I am amazed at how we can be doing things in a normal way and all of a sudden something lilke this happens. Keep your feet up today and take some extra pain killers.
I was going to use this cd but decided against it as you had used it and made such a super card with it and then when I'd done my card found Christine had used the same cd as I did.

Hi Sue. I hope your knee is ok. I'm hoping you see this comment. The dye inks haven't stain my Gelli plate and I've only used baby wipes to rub it clean. Debbie

Oh dear Sue, these things happen so easily don't they. One minute we're trotting about quite happily and next we're on the floor ..... I don't know about you but these days once I'm down getting back up again is not easy. My OH slipped in the shower a couple of weeks ago and I was beginning to think I would have to call paramedics to get him up again.... quite scary! Anyway, I hope by now you and your knee are feeling much better.

I love your card adn the burgundy tones really set the beautiful image off. Gorgeous work!

Hugs
