A Very Important Date

Well I'm still trying to clear my Craftroom and still getting distracted. This time making a tag for the challenge over on the CD Sunday blog. I've used MCS and A very Important Date for my tag. First I printed off a backing paper, topper, playing cards and three more of the characters. I stuck the backing paper to a card tag, then after cutting out the various pieces I arranged them onto the tag. It's a long time since I've used this CD, but was reminded of recently when a fellow blogger used it for a couple of card. So I'd like to say thank you to Val for jogging my memory.

Thank you for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreiated.

Having A Bit Of A Tidy

I've been busy this week (not on crafting), but in between I did give my craftroom a bit of a clean. I came across something I stamped months ago and I'm ashamed to say it was very neglected. I think the stamp is a woodware one, but can't be sure as I put it away so well I can't find it.  So I rummaged a bit more and found that there was some gold mirri card and a sheet of craft card being neglected as well. It didn't take me long before I was distracted from the tidying and was putting this together. I felt it needed some matching card as well but as I had none I set to and made one that matched using My Craft Studio. A little bit of ribbon from my stash and a sentiment that had been made and foiled sometime ago and soon I had a completed card. Oh well there's always tomorrow to finish the tidy up.

My First Christmas Cards Of 2015

I promised myself at the end of last year that I would start making my Christmas cards earlier this year. So here is my first four cards, two in the same colourway and two different, using the same stamp which is by Penny Black and available to buy from Oyster Stamps. The backing papers that I've used with these cards are all from Sue Smiths Stripe and Co, a CD that I've had for a few years now. I turn to this CD quite a lot at Christmas as I especially like the green and red stripes together with the green and red spots. These four are now ready to pop into my Christmas card box for 2015, a great start all I have to do now is keep it up and then I won't feel so much pressure nearer the time.

I would also like to enter this into this months challenge over on the Stamping Sensations blog, this month the challenge is Die Cuts and Punches - I've used Dies from Marianne - Poinsettia, Tonic - Present and All Occasion Dies - Happy Christmas.

Playing With The Brayer

I'm determined this year that I'm going to use the things that I keep buying, one of those being a speedball brayer that's been in the cupboard for at least two years. So yesterday I set out with ink pads and brayer to have a play. Below is my first ever picture created using the brayer, I'm quite please with the result and will be using it again. I made this card for  the Lavinia Challenge this month which is Anything goes. I also had a play with Paint Shop Pro and managed to make myself a watermark for my photos.

Animal Antics With CD Sunday

What wild and windy weather we seem to be having at the moment, at least there's no snow here in the south. This week the challenge on the CD Sunday blog is Animal Antics and I found myself reaching for Charismatic Cats from Creative Crafting World. While I was looking through the CD trying to decide which of the wonderful images to use I saw that it had teabag folding on there. My first ever craft CD that I bought was from Create and Craft when they first launched as a separate company from Ideal World. It was by Chris Warner who had to be the Queen of tea bag folding. I enjoyed my trip down memory lane remembering how to fold the tiles, hopefully you can still see what the kittens are up to on the shelves.

Birthday Card For Mum

I thought that I would show you the card that I made for my Mum's birthday (which was yesterday). She love the card as well as the canvas that I showed you in the previous post. I have wanted to make one of these box cards for quite a while, but somehow just didn't find the time.  I had bought this CD some time ago, it's a Debbi Moore CD with a template for the box card on. I ended up making my own and not following the instructions on the CD, but I did use the papers which were just right. There was just the right amount of decoupage on the one sheet to complete the flowers too. I just added the die cuts to finish.

I thought I would add this to the challenge at In The Pink, which at the moment is anything goes.

Another Canvas

A few months ago I made a canvas that I was lucky enough to have published in the November issue of Craft Stamper in the Over To You section. My Mum has much admired the canvas and even borrowed my Magazine to show all of her friends. So with her Birthday fast approaching I decided to make her one of her own. You can find the details of how I made the original canvas here, so I will not bore you with details today. Needless to say that the colours I have used here are to match the decor in my Mum's lounge. I hope that she likes this one as much as the original.

Winter Walks

Just before Christmas I invested in a new PC, so the last week or so I've been swapping files and programs from my old PC to the new one. Also getting to find my way around windows 8, I think I'm getting there at long last. In between I managed to make this card for the challenge over on the CD Sunday blog, but then discovered my old photo editing program did not work. So I've spent today looking online for a new one. Luckily they do free trials. In a moment of madness I also decided that my blog needed an overhaul as well (I don't know how long it will last but I like it for the time being). Anyway onto my card which started with an A5 white card base, then I popped Pollyanna Pickering Magical Christmas Moments into the PC, I remembered that I'd seen some beautiful scenes with Farmer, Dogs and sheep on a country farm track on what appears to be a cold frosty morning. After printing it out and mounting onto some pearlesent gold card, I stamped this lovely sentiment from Inkylicious and added it to finish.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.
