Rudolph Days - February

Well I'm back from my travels and this scene is very reminiscent of the weather conditions for some of our stay in Canada. We arrived on the Thursday evening, setting out for Whistler and the ski slopes early Friday morning, as we left the drive at 7.00 a.m. it started to snow and continued to snow for the 2 1/2 hour drive. I must say that the Canadians cope with snow far better than we do in the UK, the cars had snow tyres on and drove through the snow without the slightest slide anywhere. We spent a week in Whistler where it continued to snow on and off all week. By the time we left they had had about 60 - 90 cms (this added to the snow that was already there, was more snow than I have ever seen before). We returned to Vancouver after the first week to find that they had snow there also (this is something that does not happen very often so I'm told). We had an enjoyable stay with my son-in-laws family for a further 11 days before returning home on Tuesday of this week. I think I have now recovered from jet lag although hubby is still having problems sleeping past 4.30 a.m. We spent an enjoyable few hours in Maureen's (Scrappy Mo) and her husband Al's company, where we had a great lunch and then went Craft shopping and of course a great deal of chatting. Thank you Maureen for a great day, hope we can return the hospitality some when soon.

Anyway onto my card for this months challenge. The stamp is from an American company called C.C. Designs and was bought in the sale after Christmas from Oyster Stamps. I stamped onto some very smooth water colour card (bought on my visit with Maureen from a lovely little art shop) and coloured with Aqua pro markers. I then added some stickles to the image and went around the edges with glue and glitter, before matting and putting onto an A6 card base.

Of course I didn't stop at one, I made four to pop into the box for next Christmas.
Just a reminder that I have blog Candy running until the 28th of the month too.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

Sue

Welcome home! Glad you had a good time and what a treat to be able to meet up with Maureen and her hubby. We loved Vancouver and Whistler when we were there a few years ago, although it was the summer then, so no snow!

Gorgeous cards, so beautifully coloured. I love the image too. xx

I've made a card for the challenge but I'm not sure if I'll have time to put a blog piece together before tomorrow as I'm still on catch up with my commenting. Crafty hugs, Sandra x

Welcome home Sue! Sounds like you had a lovely holiday and you are right the Americans and Canadians deal with snow so much better than we do. Love your snowy winter scene xx

What a gorgeous set of cards for Rudolph Day! They are all beautiful and I love the sparkle you added! Sounds like you had a wonderful time on your trip! How fun to meet up with Maureen! I live in Canada too but on the other side of the country, in Nova Scotia, and we've had a lot of snow too. We've had mild weather the last several days and much of our snow has melted away - Yay! I'm looking forward to spring!

Sounds like you had a lovely visit in Canada, and how wonderful you got to meet up with Maureen. Lucky you! And also great that you had some fun craft shopping. I love CC Designs...they are such fun to color. This is a delightful snowscape, and some fantastic coloring by yourself. Yay for you, that you were able to replicate it as many times as you did, and now you've got 4 beautifully made cards for you stash. TFS & Hugs
