A Great Weekend At A Craft Retreat

Last weekend saw me heading up the motorway to Nuneaton and the 3rd Annual Craft Retreat with the UKSN group that I belong too. Two days of crafting with friends, a recipe for fun. We started off on the Saturday by making our own texture paste and making some backgrounds to use it on. The first  (below) was Brushos onto watercolour card. Once the paste was dry it was coloured using promarkers.

Then we made a faux wood effect background, which again once the texture paste was dry was coloured with promarkers.

Next came two canvas's one 5x7 and the other 8x10. This time we used bleeding tissue, texture stamps with distress inks, stencils and  Black Archival ink pads with a few touches of white Acrylic paint.

Then on the Sunday we played with Gelli plates and acrylic paints to make pages for making a Mojo book. Once we had filled our papers both sides with the painted backgrounds they were cut down into smaller pages and then put together with a bind it machine.

I came home very pleased with my makes and some very dirty stencils and brayer. I'm glad to say that they have cleaned up very well with a little help from some Murphy's Oil Soap.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

Sue

Hi Sue, What a fun weekend, so many lovely creations love the idea of using tissue paper that bleeds, it looks like you had cut circles of it to layer on. Now you can't complain when your Mojo goes missing, it will be hiding in it's book! Have a wonderful week... Megan
