Good To Be Back Home

Well we made it back home in one piece with loads of washing (which I'm glad to say is now washed, ironed and put away). We had a fantastic time, but 5 1/2 weeks went by far to quickly. We have been so busy since returning on Sunday that I've not had time for any crafting yet, so this post is full of photos from the trip (hopefully not to boring for you). The first is of the beautiful Buffalo in Yellowstone National Park, it was great to see so many of them just wandering around grazing. We bought an Annual park pass when we went here, $80 dollars but well worth it, it was $30 dollars just for this park, after visiting three at this price the ticket had payed for itself and all the National parks after that were free for us. Well worth doing if you are thinking of doing a trip like this.

Next we have Horseshoe Bend on the River Colorado.

Then it was onto the Grand Canyon, which was truly amazing.

Sunset on the way back to the hotel after spending the day at the Canyon.

The Hoover Dam.

Coyote at the edge of the road while driving through Death Valley.

The Queen Mary at long Beach LA. I visited on this ship at a five year old when an Aunt and Uncle who lived in the US returned on her in the sixties, also when I was eight on a school trip before she sailed to the US to her present position.

Sea Otters swimming in Morro Bay California. There were also a lot of Sea Lions there too.

Another wonderful sunset in Morro Bay this time.

Whale watching at Monterrey Bay, Hubby was the only person on the boat that managed to catch this image of the whale breaching.

A rather misty Golden Gate Bridge, we were there for 3 days and she was in the mist every day.

The famous Lombard Street in San Fransisco. We had hope to visit Alcatraz but we needed to have booked in advance as there was a weeks wait for tickets.

Hubby standing in the tree that we had just driven through.

Timberline Lodge, some of you might recognise it from a film staring Jack Nickolson.

The Space Needle in Seattle, this was taken from our hotel bedroom window.

And finally, we spent a wonderful Wednesday evening with Maureen Kane and her Husband Al and then Maureen and I went craft shopping the following morning before we returned to stay with our Son-in-laws Uncle and Aunt prior to returning the car and flying home. We drove 10806 kilometers before returning the car which was in need of a very good clean.

This is just a glimpse of some of the places we visited, there were many more but that would have bored you.

If you've stuck it out until the end, Thank You. Hope fully I'll be back with something crafty next time.

Sue

Welcome home, Sue! TFS your beautiful photos, it looks like you had an amazing time and how fabulous to spend time with Maureen. Your photos brought back lots of memories of several of our holidays is the US. I somehow missed your last post - what an amazing place Monument Valley is. I always thought it was a fake backdrop in Western films, until we went there!
