This week I was asked to make several different cards, most of them straight forward, so I had no problems finding what to use. But this one was a little different, a card for a lady who is going to be 70, with the pastime of walking. I searched my CDs, looked at my stamps and was still scratching my head when I looked on the Internet for some inspiration. That was when I found this gorgeous picture of a sunrise/sunset. So after downloading it I set about seeing if I could use it on a card for this lady. I found a backing paper in MCS and changed the colours so that they matched the image. After printing this off on my ink jet printer, I then added swirls to the corners, because of the layers feature on MCS I was able to turn the main backing paper off while I printed the swirls on my laser printer. Now I was able to add some foil to the part that were laser printed. Both the backing paper and the topper are mounted onto gold mirri card, also the sentiment which was made in MCS. I also downloaded a picture of some hiking boot which I printed and cut out, placing them at the bottom of the topper. At this stage I decided as it was for a lady it needed making more feminine. So I rummaged and found some orange organza ribbon and some cream flowers, these I painted with pearlidoodles to match, and some gems which I added to the middles. It took a bit of thought but in the end I'm pleased with the result, I just hope that she likes it.
Thank you for taking the time to look.
