What a wonderful change in the weather were having today, certainly a change from the last few days, I hope that it's good where you are too? I ordered these wonderful new stamps as soon as they were released from Chocolate Baroque at the beginning of the month, and cut them out as soon as they arrived. Then did not get a chance to play with them until this week, and I hate to say that this has been waiting to be put onto a card until today. I had some white oval shaped pieces of card left over from a previous project so stamped these wonderful flowers, that look like lights, on a piece. I coloured them with promarkers and added some tumbled glass DI from the outside towards the middle, and then added some vintage photo around the edge. With another piece of left over white card I blended tumbled glass at the top and peeled paint at the bottom, then using vintage photo and rusty hinge I stamped the cog trees in a fairly uniform pattern, fading them into the background by using the second stamp with rusty hinge. Again I went around the outside of the card with vintage photo. I have not added a sentiment yet, I shall pop it into my box of cards until I'm ready to use it.

CD Sunday - Aged To Perfection
This week has flown by and it's time for a new challenge over at CD Sunday. This week it's Sue B's choice, and she's gone with Aged To Perfection. The rest of the design team have been hard at work and there are some great inspiration over on the blog, do pop over and have a look. For my card this week I've used La Pashe, Best of 2012, and this happy couple on the London to Brighton run. It's the card that I made for Mother-in-law to give to Father-in-law on their 64th Anniversary. He always had a passion for cars up until he lost most of his sight and had to give up driving 12 years ago. On cold nights he would pop out to the garage a put a blanket over the engine. The card base is 8x8 and I matted the backing paper onto some black card, the topper and sentiment were matted onto first black and then silver mirri card. I used the sprocket set from spellbinders and cut out lots of cogs which I've added as embellishments.

Dancing At Dawn
Before I start this post I just wanted to say a big thank you to Tracey. I was lucky enough to have my card picked by random at the end of last months Lavinia Challenge, so won £40 to spend at the Lavinia Shop. I had great fun looking at the website and choosing some new stamps to add to my growing stash. Now onto today's card which is my entry into this month's challenge, and the theme is "Pastel Colours". These are colours that I don't use very much, I am normally drawn to deeper shades, however I am pleased with the result that I got on this one. I used Pan Pastels to create a background, blending the shades together down the page. I then stamped the verse into the top left hand corner and the Dance Till Dawn stamp at the bottom in Memento Tuxedo Black. Then I got out the Adirondack lighter colour ink pads and stamped the foliage around the edges. To finish I just added some glitter to the wings and the tiny buds on the vine leaves.

Craft A Scene - Ships In The Night
It's week three over on the Craft A Scene blog and our theme this month is Ships In The Night. For this card I've used stamps from Creative Expressions for the main image (the Ship) and also the map background, I also used the sea stamp from Stampscapes. I stamped onto some glossy card stock and coloured the picture using Adirondack ink pads, making the moon by placing a punched circle onto the card before starting. I've using a 6x6 white card base and silver mirri card for the matting.

CD Sunday - Go Green
This week's theme over on the CD Sunday blog is Go Green, picked by Jenny before she went on sabbatical. However for this week she has come back and joined us and will pick the lucky winner. There are beautiful samples over on the CD Sunday blog, with different interpretations of Go Green, Some have used the colour Green, and some have recycled, I decided to do both. When I first saw what the theme was to be for this week my mind went straight to recycling, I have 3 boxes with bits and pieces popped into them, pieces of card, off cuts from backing papers, stamped images that I've not got around to using or colouring in, I'm sure you get the picture. So with the green theme in mind I set about to find something I could put together, this was the end result. An A4 piece of centura card in pastel green, already folded, so I cut this down to a 6x6 card size, an off cut of dark green card for the matting, and also some of the die cut leaves. The backing paper is from Artylicious Essence of Nature CD, again from the box, and the butterfly also from the box. However at this point I should admit that this is one of my all time favourite stamps and I'm very often asked if I would make a butterfly card, this is the stamp, along with it's larger partner that I always go to first, so I always have some stamped somewhere. I coloured the butterfly using promarkers in shades of green and pink, and made the feelers out of some jewellery wire. The flowers were also made using some pearlesent paper in a very pale shade of green (doesn't show up well in the photo), and added some pink flat backed pearls to the centres. I found a small off cut of the lime green card which was just enough to make a couple more leaves. After adding all of this to the card, I finished with some flat backed pearls in green to the sides and a sentiment from a Chocolate Baroque set.

One Card - Two Challenges
Today I've made a card that will cover two challenges, Artistic Inspirations, who are asking that you make a card with Florals and Lace, and My Craft Creations, who are asking for A Floral card. For my contribution I have used La Pashe, The Next Big One CD, and this lovely digi stamp of a Hydrangea. It's been coloured using promarker and then cut out with a spellbinders die, I inked around the edges with Dusky Concord Distress Ink when it was out of the die. The backing paper is a Knit Wits download, which I took into MCS and added some lace across the middle with the digital punch section. I've added the Birthday Wishes sentiment directly onto the backing paper, and popped on some die cut corners. All of this was mounted onto some silver card, and finally onto a 6x6 card base.

CD Sunday - Ornate Blossom
This Sunday over on the CD Sunday blog it's Christine's turn to choose the theme, and she's chosen Ornate Blossom. For my card I've gone with Joanna Sheen's Oriental Dreams. It's a long time since this CD has had an outing, and although I have many CD's with flowers on, I knew that I would find some wisteria on this CD. I love seeing this on the sides of cottages and house's about this time of year, it's a sure sign that summer is on it's way. I mounted the topper onto some silver mirri card, and also the matching backing paper and sentiment then this was all mounted onto an A5 card base. I added a ribbon and some small mauve flowers from my stash adding some little beads to the centres.

Angela Angel Fish
I've been playing again with Dylusion sprays and Designs By Ryn, and I've used the gorgeous Angel fish. Ryn calls the angel fish Wanda, but for this post I've called her Angela. Along with Angela/Wanda I've used the seaweed stamp, the school of fish and the water bubbles. I made the background by spraying Dylusion inks in Campso Teal and Vibrant Turquoise onto my glass cutting mat, and then laying the card into the ink. I was so surprised at the amount of pieces of card I managed to colour just by adding a little spray of water. I stamped the seaweed in shades of green Adorandack ink pads, the sea bubbles were stamped using the slate Adirondack ink pad, and the going over some of the swirls with a white pen. The school of fish was stamped using memento Tuxedo Black, but I used the second stamp rather than the first. Angela/Wanda was stamped and embossed with silver embossing powder, as was the sentiment, I used pro markers to colour Angela. The sentiment has not shown up in the photo very well, but looks fine on the card. Finally I mounted the background onto some silver mirri card, and then a 6x6 card base before adding Angela with some glue gel.

90th Birthday Card
This is a card I was asked to make for a customer whose Father is celebrating his 90th birthday this weekend. I'm sure that he's not going to be looking at my blog, so I feel quite safe posting this on here today. Also I can enter into the challenge on My Craft Creations, which are asking that you make a card for a milestone birthday. I used an 8x8 card base for the card and Debbi Moore's Cards For Men CD. I've matted the backing paper onto some silver mirri board, and used glue gel for the decoupage of the main image. I then dusted off my Cricut and using the Plantin School Book cartridge, silver mirri and black card, cut out the letters and number that I wanted both in normal and blackout. Finally I added these to the front of the card.

Craft a Scene - Ships In The Night
This month the challenge over at Craft a Scene is Ships In The Night, so were asking that you make a scene with a ship/boat at night time. This one I made as the card for my Mother-in-law to send to my Father-in-law yesterday, I'm glad to say that he loved it. I want to call this one "Heading For Home" as I think the this small yacht looks as though it heading for a small port or cove the other side of the rocks that the lighthouse is standing on. For the card I've used all Stampscapes stamps along with a mixture of Adirondack ink pads for the colour, and just using a promarker for the lighthouse colour. I used some textured silver card for mounting the image and sentiment (which was made on the PC), and dark blue for matting. This was all then put onto a lighter blue 8x8 card base. Do pop over to the Craft A Scene blog and take a look at what the rest of my team mates have put together.

CD Sunday - Weddings
Another Sunday and another new challenge on the CD Sunday blog, and this week it was my turn to pick the theme. With the arrival of the sun this week, I could not have picked a better theme than Weddings. This week we also welcome Gloria (AKA Misty's Mum) as the guest designer for the month. For my card this week I've used Joanna Sheen's Holly Pond Hill, and these two gorgeous bunnies. The backing paper was one that matched the topper, to this I added so flat lace and a ribbon rosette popping in a couple of decorative pins. The corners were from a die cut that I bought a while ago, sorry I can't remember who it made by. Finally I added some extra roses that were on the topper sheet.

Designs By Ryn Meets Chocolate Baroque....
....with a little bit of Dylusions. This weekend it's my Father-in-laws Birthday, so I had to put my thinking cap on. In the past I made cards with car's, shed's, scene's, more car's, ship's I think you get the picture. So I wanted to do something different, and this is what I came up with. I had bought new stamps from Designs By Ryn, and not had a chance to use them, the same with the Dylusion spray's that have been sat on the shelf since the New Year. So yesterday I got out the sprays and had a play, (I can't believe how far a small amount of the ink can go). I left them to dry overnight and then got the stamps out this afternoon, ready for a play. I've been inspired to make a scene like this by two of the ladies on Ryn's Design team, Shirley of Paper Creations By Shirley, and Miranda of Mir'acle Art Inspirations, they have amazing art work on their blogs, if you've not visited before please go and take a look, you won't be disappointed. I started with the sea bubbles stamp and cool peri Adirondack ink pad across the top of the scene, (it was all stamped with Adirondack ink pads). Next with two different shades of green I stamped the sea weed at the bottom, and with black I stamped the school of fish (these I did a second stamping, after the first to give the effect of shadows or more fish in the background), and the bubbles. The sea horses were stamped out onto some white card stock and embossed with gold embossing powder, and then coloured with distress markers and a water brush. I them cut them out and fixed them to the scene with glue gel. The base card was made with a caramel, linen card stock. This I stamped with shell stamps from Chocolate Baroque. Finally I cut out the word DAD with the Cricut and added to the side.
My Father-in-law comes from Helston in Cornwall, so grew up never far for the sea. I hope this brings back a few memories for him.
Thanks for taking the time to look, and your kind comments which are always appreciated.
