Forest Friends At Stamping Sensations

Last month I was lucky enough to win a wonderful prize over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge blog and was very kindly asked to be Guest Designer for March. The Challenge is Forest Animals this month and the Design team have put together some wonderful cards for your inspiration. My card was made using a Digi Image from Nicecrane Designs, who sadly are no longer trading. I've chosen Squirrels and coloured them with pencils to be Red Squirrels, which are seen so rarely here in the UK although they are native to our shores. I've been lucky and seen these wonderful creatures, many years ago on Brownsea Island in Dorset where they have no Gray Squirrels.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

Sue

Absolutely gorgeous, Sue! Such a lovely design. There are red squirrels around where I live and we see them quite often. They are wonderful little creatures and your card perfectly captures their cheeky nature. Thanks for being our GDT this month.

Congratulations on the win, and being chosen as guest designer. Your card is beautiful, it takes me back to my childhood when we used to see red squirrels around the Lake District, Delamere Forest in Cheshire and Formby on the Lancashire coast. I believe there are still some in a reserve at Formby but the others have all been replaced with grey ones.

Congratulations on your GD spot, Sue. Lovely card and the image is beautifully coloured. We often get grey squirrels in the garden, but I've never seen a red one in the UK. We saw them once in Canada when we were on holiday. xx

I have a few of their images . Such a shame they closed down. Love your red squirrels. We have loads of squirrels in the trees the other side of the flood pond but all grey . Sometimes with just a hint of red on their ears. Hugs Mrs A.

Hi Sue

A really lovely card .. .. beautifully coloured.

The last red squirrel I saw was when I was staying with my Great Aunt in Coventry. I saw it dashing up a tree whilst walking her dog .. .. .. and that was many, many, many years ago!!!!

I still see plenty of grey ones .. in fact one often runs along the top of the fence at the end of our garden.

Love Jules xx

Lovely nature image, Sue. It is too bad that Nicecrane is no longer trading. They had lovely designs.

Your card is lovely and that bit of orange matting picks up the redish colour of the squirell's fur.
