Time again for a hunt through the cupboards for something that is neglected or forgotten, and this week I have decided to go for Christmas stamps. After saying at the start of the year I was going to get ahead and make a Christmas card each week (so I don't get caught out at the end of the year), I realised that it had been a few weeks since I had made one. The stamps I've used for this one have all come from Chocolate Baroque, the sentiment and bird house from Christmas Tweetings and the pine branch from New England Winter. As postage prices here in the UK are set to rise quite a bit on Monday I made this card very flat, in fact I stamped directly onto the card blank. The sentiment and bird house were both stamped with Memento black ink, I then masked the bird house and stamped the pine branch over the top using pine needles Distress ink. I then coloured the image in using water colour pencils, and finished it all off by adding some barn door Distress ink with a blender across the bottom corner where the sentiment is.
Thank you for taking the time to look.

This is a lovely card Sue. I love these Christmas stamps, they are some of my favourites. It is such a sensible idea to make a flatter card with them bearing in mind the rising postage costs. It doesn't make your card any less striking. The colouring is gorgeous. Thanks for joining in FF this week, Judith xx
Beautiful card Sue, love those pine branches!warm greet Miranda
Hi Sue, Such a beautiful card ! Great work with the masking & coloring! I love this design ! Have a great weekend !
Great card Sue like the combination of the two stamps, I love both those sets. Great idea to make it flat for postage but it certainly doesn't look it. Suexxx
