Craft A Scene - Week 5 Realistic Forest Animals

I'm back again with a second post today, this time for Craft A Scene. There are five Sundays this month so you still have time to take part. For this card I used a green A5 card base and a golden green card  for the matting. I've used Stampscape stamps for the trees and foliage and the Stag is from Indigo Blu. I coloured my scene using Pro markers, and added a sentiment which was made using the PC.

I'm also going to enter this card into the challenge this week over on My Time To Craft, which is Masking. As I stamped and masked the stag before stamping the trees this qualifies for the challenge.

I've just returned from a week away, so have spent the day catching up with washing, ironing and blogging. I'm hoping that tomorrow I'll have time to catch up with a bit of crafting.

CD Sunday - Dance

This weeks challenge over on the CD Sunday blog is Dance, which was Carol's choice. It's also Wynn's last week with us as Guest DT, and I know that over on the blog there is another lovely card that she's made along with the rest of the DT. Do pop over and have a look at all the lovely inspiration there this week. For my card I used Josephine Wall's Enchanted CD, and this lovely image which I feel would make an ideal Engagement card for some wonderful young couple. I used an A5 white card base and silver mirri card to mat and layer with. The topper has been decoupaged and I added lots of glitter, shame it's not shown up in the photo. I added a triple bow and butterfly charm to finish along with the sentiment that went with the image.

CD Sunday - S Is For

This week the challenge over on the CD Sunday blog is S Is For, and is chosen by Beryl. I've decided to do S is for Stamping, and used this gorgeous stamp of a blue tit from Joanna Sheen, and the Jayne Netley Mayhew collection of stamps. It also mean't that I would have the perfect backing paper to go with the stamp used. My card is an 8x8 white card base and I used a centura pearl card in green for the matting. I added some pretty peeloff corners and some organza ribbon and rosette to the middle. I stamped the blue tit in Memento Tuxedo Black, and then coloured with aqua pencils. I also stamped the blossom stamp that was with the bird several times to add as an embellishment and coloured these with aqua pencils also. Then I used my Silouette Cameo to cut out the Happy Birthday and Cricut to cut out MUM. I also used a lables die from spellbinders to make a frame for the blue tit. Wynn is still our guest designer this week, and I know that both she and the other design team members have made some wonderful cards as inspiration, do pop over and take a look.

Come Fly With Me

Well here I am back again with my second digi image from Rick St Dennis, again I could see it in my mind with Lavinia stamps. I coloured this again with aqua pencils, and finished around the edges with Tumbled Glass and Peeled Paint DI's. Using Archival Black I stamped the images from Lavinia over the top of the coloured image, and also added another of the sentiments from Katy Sue Designs. Again I used shades of blue for the matting and card. There are a couple more images that Rick has in his etsy shop I have my eye on, I might just have to go and buy them.

Fairy Tale Dreams

A few weeks ago while wandering around blogland, I happened to visit Melissa's Crafting Diary, and saw an amazing digital image by Rick St Dennis. I knew as soon as I saw it that I had to buy it. Below is what I did once I had bought the digi. Once I had printed it off to the size I wanted, I coloured with aqua pencils for a soft look. I then brushed around the edges, at the top and down the sides with Faded Jeans DI, and the bottom with Peeled Paint DI. Next I used Archival Black to stamp the Small Pixies from Lavinia Stamps, and the small mushrooms. I then stamped the small star cluster over the sky using Cool Peri Adirondack ink, which I then glittered. I've used shades of blue card to mount the finished image onto and added the word Dream, which came from Katy Sue Designs. This was not the only digi I bought from Rick St Dennis, I'll be back tomorrow with the other one.

Lavinia Challenge 4 - Lovely Lavender

This month the challenge over at the Lavinia Challenge blog is Lovely Lavender. The ladies are asking that we make something using lavender as the main colour. I decided to get the Pan Pastels out for this one, and used only two colours, Violet tint and Violet. First I created some hills , giving a  little shading to the tops, then a very light dusting for the sky. I added the stamps and with the exception of the birds went over the top with the violet colour. The birds were dusted with the violet tint. I mounted the finished image onto some black card, then onto a lavender coloured 6x6 card base.

Craft A Scene - Forest Aminals Week 3

I'm back for the second time today, this time with my Craft A Scene hat on. We are now on week 3 in our challenge for Forest Animals. This week I've used a lovey Digi image that I found on the Nicecrane Designs webshop, with lots of lovely squirrels running and playing in the tree. I chosen to make my squirrels Red, these are very rare in the UK, as they have been driven out by the more common Grey squirrels. You can still find then in remote places like Brownsea Island, The Isle Of Wight, and Scotland. They are also a lot shier than the grey squirrel and are hard to spot. We have quite a lot of grey squirrels near to where we live and they will very often tease my dog, by waiting until he is near and then running up the tree, seeming to know that the dog can't follow them (he does try though). I've coloured the images with aqua pencils, and added a sentiment that I felt went with the image. I then matted onto some rust and cream coloured card before adding it to a brown card base.

CD Sunday - Kimono

What a difference a week makes, last week was glorious sunshine and this week rain. I hope that the lovely weather comes back soon. It's time for a new challenge on the CD Sunday challenge blog, this week it's Caz's turn to choose the theme, and she's chosen Kimono. We also still have Wynn as our Guest DT this week, I'm sure that her weather in Cyprus is better than ours. My card this week is a large 10x7 card base, and I've used Debbi Moore's Oriental CD for my card. The backing paper was printed form the CD and mounted onto some gold pearlised card, I then added some black and red ribbon around the centre of the card and put it on the card base. I printed off the decoupage sheet and cut the pieces out then put them together using glue gel, I then mounted onto the card with some foam tape. The sentiment is on the CD as well and I used this instead of a more traditional sentiment. The flowers were cut from a crealie die and I added black flat backed pearls to the centres. I then finished with some gold swirls cut with a Marianne die. Do pop over to the challenge blog and check out what the rest of the team have been making to inspire you this week.

Time For Tea

First, to my regular followers. I've had to turn on the approval part of the comments as I've been getting quite a large amount of Anonymous comments, which I've had to delete. I hope this will not put you off commenting, it just means that I will have to OK the comments first.

Now onto today's card, and this one has been made for my Father-in-law to give to Mother-in-law, I am going to enter this into the Allsorts challenge, which this week is Time For Tea. I'm not sure that I would want a cup of tea out of this pot though, after the flowers have been in there. I' ve used Joanna Sheen's, Jane Shasky CD, and an 8x8 card base. I colour matched, using the forget-me-nots, in MCS and printed onto some centura pearl white card for the matting. The topper has been decoupaged using glue gel, and I loved the way the flowers were tumbling out of the pot, so I used some of the very top layers and just the flower heads and made them fall down the card. The ribbon and charm were from my stash, and the swirl from some I had already cut. But as the swirl was white I coloured it with promarkers to match the card. Finally I added the sentiment which was made in MCS.

Vintage Car

The challenge over on My Craft Creations at the moment is Transport, and I just happen to have been asked to make this Arty Farty Car for a friend whose Father is just about to turn 70. I've made this car before but in white, as a wedding car with red roses, horseshoes and just married signs. But that was not the right colour for this one, however I did have a nice sheet of A3 card in this green, which is like the old Racing Green colour of the old MG's, so this is what I've used along with some red. The main body of the card is cut out of the A3 sheet and the hood and seat is cut out of the red. I've added some peel offs to the side of the card to make it look like metal trim, the steering wheel, dash board and wheels are all part of the template pack. I also added Happy Birthday, Dad and 70 using peel offs.

In the template pack there is also one for the box to display the car, and for this I used this lime coloured card. Again I needed A3 card, so the choice came down to what I had that would go with the car.
