CAS At Allsorts

I hope you all had a wonderful and peaceful Christmas and are now looking forward to the New Year. The challenge over on the Allsorts blog at the moment is CAS, so I cleared a patch on my very crowded work space and made this card to join in this time around. It's been quite a while since I joined in any challenges except for the Rudolph Days challenge. I'm hopefully going to join in a bit more in 2023. For this card I used an AALL and Create stamp by Bipasha, stamped it in black and used the spotlight technique to add a little bit of colour.

November Rudolph Days

I can't believe that it is already the last Rudolph Days Challenge before Christmas, only another month until the big day. Maureen has a wonderful prize for the person who is lucky enough to be drawn randomly as the winner. My cards this month were made with some backgrounds that I made at a recent retreat that I attended, it involved making a wet patch on your glass mat/waterproof surface and then sprinkling pixie powder (or similar) onto the water then mopping it all up with 4x6inch photo paper.  I bought them home and stamped onto them with a Woodware stamp and used some of my glitter mountain to decorate. As you can imagine I sparkled a little when I had finished. I do hope that you can pop over to Rudolph Days and join in the fun this month, or even just come and see what it is all about.

September Rudolph Days

Sorry everyone for being late posting this month's Rudolph Days Cards, we.ve been having our bathroom changed and it's been a hectic rush to get it finished by today. We had family staying who were helping so as you can imagine things got a little crowded. But I'm glad to say that the bathroom is finished and looking fabulous and the relations are on their way home. So now onto Rudolph Days, Maureen has a fantastic prize for the person who will be chosen at random at the end of the challenge and both Maureen and Jenny have been hard at work making cards for our inspiration too. Do pop over to the blog and take a look and even join in the fun, who knows someone has to win that prize.

Talk about winning, my cards this month are made with last month's Heartfelt Creations collection which I was lucky enough to win in a prize draw held on Facebook by Create and Craft. I must say it's a wonderful collection and I've only used two of the stamps and one of the die sets so far.

Below are my batch makes for this month 6 with the Angel and 8 with the Music.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and take a look and for any of your kind comments you might just happened to have left.

July Rudolph Days

Well I must admit to struggling to get these cards made for this month's Rudolph Days Challenge as it was so hot at the time. I'm glad it's cooled down for the time being. Yes it's that time again to get your Christmas cards made and join in the fun over on the Rudolph Days Challenge. Maureen has a prize lined up for the winner who will be chosen at random when the challenge ends on the last day of the month. For my cards this month I have used the New Carnation Crafts Christmas Collection. The Fox Family, The Deer Family and also the Robin wrapping presents. I've kept them as flat as I can so that they are not too expensive to post either. There are lots of lovely dies in the collection so I'm sure there will be more to come later on. I do hope that some of you can come and join us this month.

June Rudolph Days

I'm really late this month with my card for the Rudolph Days Challenge. At the beginning of June we went away on a cruise with friends for 2 weeks around the med. We had a great time, the weather was fantastic and it was nice to be doing what was normal a couple of years ago. However we all returned home with Covid, I'm glad to say that we have now all recovered but it has put me behind with everything. I had stamped my images for this month and taken them with me and I did get them coloured while away. I still had to put them together though. I'm glad to say that I've managed to get them done in time for the challenge this month. As you must all know by now Maureen has a wonderful prize for the winner who is chosen randomly at the end of the challenge, if you haven't entered yet you still have until the end of today to do so. My card this month is a Pink Ink Design of this gorgeous little mouse skiing downhill and as normal I've made four altogether.

May Rudolph Days

It's the 25th of the month so that can only mean one thing. It's time for Rudolph Days. As always Maureen has a wonderful prize for the person that will be drawn at random at the close of the challenge and all you have to do to enter is submit one Christmas card over on the blog. My card for this month has been made using Kraft card, a stamp by Sheena Douglas that was bought a couple of Christmas' ago and not used until now. I stamped with Versamark and used black embossing powder over the top. I then used colouring pencils to colour. A CAS card but as always I didn't stop at one I made four altogether to pop into the box ready for December.

Happy 13th Birthday Allsorts

My card today has been made to join in the current challenge over on the Allsorts Blog. They are celebrating their 13th Birthday this week, so are asking for your cards to be about Birthdays. My ready box is quite empty at the moment so this was a good excuse to make a card to add to it. I've used Two Red Robins the For Mum collection for the decoupage and a My Craft Studio Collection for the backing paper, I've then teamed it all up with a burgundy card stock and a Sue Wilson Birthday Die cut in the same card stock.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

My First Ever Quilt

I have always sewn since I was a small child. Making clothes for my dolls and then later for myself and for my children. I have three embroidery machines but I had never made a quilt before. On a recent clear out I came across my fabric stash and I actually had quite a lot of cotton quilting fabric left over from a previous project of making bags and clowns that sat in hoops. It just so happens that my daughters Mother-in-law is a quilter, so recently we started to get together just one morning a week and this is the result, my first ever quilt. It was made out of 2 1/2 inch strips and 2 1/2 inch squares between each different fabric. I'm really enjoying getting back into some sewing again after a long break and have already cut out the fabric for my next quilt. The fabrics I'm using are the same as these with a couple of new ones that I bought. I would also like to enter this into the River Of Creativity Challenge, which is No Cards with the option of recycled.

This will not mean that 'm giving up everything else, just something to do along with everything else. thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

April Rudolph Days

Well I'm really late this month, I normally manage to post my cards for the Rudolph Day Challenge before this stage in the challenge. I don't know where the time has gone. For my cards this month I decided to use some large sentiment dies with Chistmas Greetings that I found in a folder in my stash recently (yes I do have far to much and had forgotten I had them). I made some backgrounds using some sparkle paints and sprays that I have and not used for some time as well, finishing them with a covering of white gesso speckles. They were quick and easy to make however after searching for my camera for two days I decided to just get on and take the photos with my phone. I don't know why I haven't done this before as they were far easier to edit in the phone. Rudolph Days is a great fun challenge and Maureen always has a wonderful prize for whoever is drawn at random when the challenge finishes. Do pop over and take a look.

March Rudolph Days

How time flies. It is time again for the Rudolph Days Challenge. Maureen has a wonderful prize for the person who is chosen at random, all you need to do is to take part. One Christmas card made however you want, just pop across and join the fun. I decided to use this stamp by Sheena Douglas for my card this month, after stamping in black ink I then set then to one side to colour later. But the more I looked at them the more I like just the Black and White images, so in the end I decided to leave them as they were. I stamped directly onto a 6x6 card blank and added the Merry Christmas sentiment. Normally I try to get around to everyone's blog who takes part in the challenge. I love to see what you've all made. This month however I am going to be away from this morning 25th March through to the 1st April, so I apologise now as I know I'm going to be in a dead zone with no internet for the week. As always I made more than one for my stash.

New Baby

My post today is a little bit photo heavy, but I wanted to show you this Album that I made from a recent Facebook Live class that I took with Clare Charvil from My Creative Spirit a couple of weeks ago. It was made for the newest member of the family, baby Kensa. Who was born to a cousin in Cornwall. I used papers that I printed off from a downloadable kit from Nitwits called Baby's First's. Clare's Facebook classes are great fun and easy to follow along too, this was from class 29 called The Eliza Double Album. I'm going to pop across to the River Of Creativity Challenge blog and join in this month. They are asking for Anything goes but NOT a card.

Hand Coloured

The current challenge over on the Allsorts blog is Hand Coloured or Paper Pieced. As this card that has been made for our nephews Birthday next week has been hand coloured I thought I would pop across and join in the fun. The stamp used is one that I bought as a set recently from Crafty Individuals, I fell in love with the set as soon as I saw it and knew that I had a home for this particular pack of dogs. It was fun to stamp and colour, if only I had used my Stamp platform to stamp the sentiment instead of just using a stamping block it might have stamped better.

February Rudolph Days

Wow, where did February go to. It's the 25th already so that means it's time for another Rudolph Days Challenge. As always Maureen has a beautiful prize which some lucky person will be chosen at random to win. For my cards this month I have used left overs from 4 albums that I made before Christmas (3 of them were for Christmas presents) using the Graphic 45 collection Let It Snow. It was such a beautiful collection to work with and I saved all the pieces that I had left, some of them were quite large and I even had a couple of Ephemera cards left which I mixed with some smaller cut out toppers and borders. I managed to make 4 A5 cards and 4 A6 cards and I still have a little bit of the paper left, I might even manage to get a couple more cards out of it. As I have used left overs for these I thought I would pop over to the Snippets Playground this week and join in the fun there too, it's been a long time since I was last there. Everything except the card bases was made from off cuts of the collection.

CAS Card

It's been a long time since I made something to enter into a Challenge, with the exception of Rudolph Days. But the challenge this week over on the Allsorts blog is CAS with the option of Elegance. I didn't go for the elegance but did manage to make a CAS card using an A6 card base from my stash and a stamp and stencil from Lavinia Stamps and the sentiment is from Chocolate Baroque. I started by using one of my brushes and a stencil, the ink was what was left on the brush from a previous project, then I over stamped with one of the new Lavinia Stamps before adding Just A Note. I don't usually do CAS so this was quite a challenge for me not to carry on adding more and more to it.

January Rudolph Days

Today see's the start of another Year of Rudolph Days over on Scrappymo's blog. This is a great challenge which runs from the 25th of each month until the end of the month and Maureen always has a wonderful Christmas Themed gift for the winner that is chosen at random. It's also a good way to kick start you Christmas cards, I tend to make a small batch each month so I don't have to rush nearer to December. Anyway onto my cards for this month. I've used a mixture of Carnation Crafts and Tattered Lace for my cards. The larger lacy die and base is from Carnation Crafts, while the Polar Bear and Penguins are from Tattered Lace. I also used a Tattered Lace USB with some Christmas scenes on for the background and Creative Expressions for the sentiments. I do hope that you can join in the fun on at Rudolph Days.

Happy Birthday

Another year has come and gone and now we start a new one. At least we are not in lockdown this year, although we might as well be with all of the warnings they are giving us. Any way that is not why I'm here. This year I want to get my Mojo back and to start blogging more regularly, let's hope that I can keep it up. My first card for this year was made for my Crafting Friend who's celebrates her Birthday at the end of December. For her card I used Carnation Crafts Lots Of Love collection. I love the richness of the colours in this collection, so different to the other collections that have been coming out recently. I used a 7x7 card base along with one of the coloured card stock and matched it to the colour of the flowers. After matting with some white card and a backing paper from the collection I printed onto a sheet of white card and lined the die up so that the sentiment would be visible. The flowers have about four layers to them and the humming bird two. I'm pleased with how it turned out and am glad to say that my friend loved it.
