Rudolph Days Challenge

My card today is for the Rudolph Days Challenge, it was a very quick and easy make. For the background I used Spectrum Noir Glitter Pens and two different colours of Blue. Then with a paint brush and water just went backwards and forwards across the card, when it was dry I dropped on some big splashes of water and then mopped up with a tissue. When everything was dry I stamped onto the background with Versamark and used a white sparkly embossing powder over the top, then mounted onto some silver mirri card. Two more for the Christmas card box.

Lavender, Lace, Letters and Layers

My card today has been made for the Butterfly Challenge which at the moment is L giving a choice of Lavender, Layers, Lemon, Letters, Light Blue, Lace and of course Butterflies. I went with Lavender (there is some on my background although it did not photo very well), Lace, Letters (my sentiment) and Layers (my butterfly one solid which has been colours through the die and one lacy also lavender). The background was floating around in my scraps box as it was left over from a previous project, as well as the card that I used to make the butterfly, so this will also qualify for Pixies Snippets Playground. It's been a while since I popped in for a play.

Crafty Play Day

I belong to a local group of Crafters who meet once every two weeks on a Thursday evening and again once a month on a Saturday. Last Saturday was one of those days and below was the result of some playing with a canvas, texture paste, black card and gilding waxes. We started by putting texture paste onto the canvas and then partly drying it (the aim is to get like a skin on the top) and then pushing it about to get the ripple effect with a palette knife. When this was dry it was painted with a wash of Deco Art paints, I used Red, Yellow and Green on mine, although the green is very pale. While this was drying I cut out from black card, a Bee from a Tim Holtz Sizzix, Texture Fades die and embossing folder. I also cut out some flowers and leaves using some Tattered Lace dies that use the same technique as the bee, again in black card. The Dream die was from Tonic, I cut two of these and stuck them together. I then used Pebeo guiding wax on the Bee and Dream, and Viva Decor Inca Golds on the flowers and leaves (these come in various colours). After sticking everything in place I added some pearls that matched into the centres of the flowers and then some gold leaf around the edge of the canvas.

I'm entering this into the following challenge:

Mothers Day

I thought that I would show you the card that I made for my Mum for Mothers Day yesterday. I made it using the Heartfelt Creations Lush Lilac Collection, by cutting into the backing paper and also using one of the toppers in the pad too. I stamped the flowers in a dark Lilac colour before colouring with a lighter colour and die cutting them out. I also used the Lilac spray as a base to put the little flowers onto. The flowers were shaped using the shaping press that was bought out with the collection too, it certainly took the hard work out of the shaping. As I have several cards to make for ladies in the coming weeks I stamped and shaped rather a lot of them. I'm glad to say that My Mum loved the card and we had a lovely day with my Daughter, who cooked us a wonderful Dinner. It was so nice not to have to slave away in the kitchen.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Ladies Only

Just popping in quickly to post this card which is for the current challenge over on the Allsorts Challenge Blog. The theme is Ladies Only and for my card I've used Debbi Moore's Art Deco London CD for the image and backing paper. The flowers were made using a Crealies die and pearlised paper, the colours match far better in real life than in the photo, but this is the best I could get it to look. I've added a bow made from ribbon from my stash and some gems also from my stash.

Forest Friends At Stamping Sensations

Last month I was lucky enough to win a wonderful prize over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge blog and was very kindly asked to be Guest Designer for March. The Challenge is Forest Animals this month and the Design team have put together some wonderful cards for your inspiration. My card was made using a Digi Image from Nicecrane Designs, who sadly are no longer trading. I've chosen Squirrels and coloured them with pencils to be Red Squirrels, which are seen so rarely here in the UK although they are native to our shores. I've been lucky and seen these wonderful creatures, many years ago on Brownsea Island in Dorset where they have no Gray Squirrels.
