Add Some Sparkle

I've been trying for weeks to tidy my messy Craft Room but keep getting side tracked. This card is the result of one such side track. I found this Lavinia cut out (cut on the Scan-n-cut) tucked away with some other pieces of card, so decided it was too good to just leave there. The background is one that I had already made (I keep a box with backgrounds readymade just in case I need one in a hurry) so it didn't take long to pop this together. As I've added glitter to the wings she's just right for joining in the fun a Stamping Sensations this month who what you to add some sparkle.

Off now to see how far I get with the clear up today, I wonder what I'll find to distract me.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

Thank You

This is a card that I made for a very special friend who very kindly went and searched for a collection that I had tried to buy (unfortunatly Create and Craft failed me) but never received. Thanks to her hard work and effort I now have the collection that I was trying to buy. You know who you are if your reading this, I can't thank you enough. I made the card using Pink Ink's Hare stamp, first by making a background using Picked Raspberry in Distress Oxides and Tim Holtz Stencil. I then inked in some hills and using small stamps from the set in the background made a scene. I then stamped the hare onto the scene and also stamped it onto a piece of white card, after using very pale pink alcohol pens and a blending pen on the hare I fussy cut it out and stuck over the one on the scene. I'm going to enter this card into the months challenge over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge blog as this month their theme is All Creatures Great and Small.

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well

Make It Colourful At Stamping Sensations

In April I was very lucky to win the challenge at Stamping Sensations. As a winner I was asked to be Guest Designer on this months challenge which is Make it colourful. Visible Image are the Sponsers for this months challenge. I'm sure that the hot weather that we have been having recently has had many of your reaching for those bright colours, so why not pop over to the blog and join in with the challenge this month, the Design Team have always got beautiful cards for your inspiration, the only stipulation is that your card must have used a stamp or stamps as the main focus. For my card I've used my favourite Lavinia stamps to create this scene, the flowers were made using some Stampin Up punches that happened to be sat on my desk the day I made this.

Hope you are all keeping well and staying safe.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

I belong to a small group call the UK Stampers Network, which is an exchange club. We exchange things like ATC's, Word Books, RAK cards, Inchies and Birthday cards. Every so often we have a list go out where you just send a card to the person below you on the list. This card was made for a list that has just been put out, it is basically to cheer up the person that you are sending the card to. My card is now winging it way to the person who was below me on the list and I think I'm fairly safe in saying that she does not visit my blog. I started by covering an A4 sheet of card with the colours of the rainbow and then I got out my new Lavinia stamps and had a play. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can all sit together again like the hare's on the card and have a good gossip and catch up. I'm entering my card into the challenge over on the Stamping Sensations challenge blog this month which is Somewhere Over The Rainbow (I'll be singing that for the rest of the day now)'

Something Beginning With B

My card today is for my Daughter who's birthday is in October (good job she doesn't look at this blog) but it fitted in with this months theme over on the Stamping Sensations challenge blog, which is Something Beginning With B. This has Birds, Blossoms, Branches and it's a Birthday card. I've used stamps and Dies from Heartfelt Creations Birds and Blossoms Collection teamed up with papers from the Sweet Peony Collection (I had papers that I had already cut into from this collection and they went so well with the stamps and dies I used). After stamping everything out that I wanted to use I coloured using Distress ink pads and a finger blender. I teamed the papers with some gold mirri card and an 8x8 card base, the corners were cut using a Marianne die and the sentiment is from The Paper Boutique. The stamped elements were attached using glue gel and a little shaping. Now just to hide the card away until her Birthday.

I am also going to enter this into the Allsorts Challenge which this week is Things With Wings.

Forest Friends At Stamping Sensations

Last month I was lucky enough to win a wonderful prize over on the Stamping Sensations Challenge blog and was very kindly asked to be Guest Designer for March. The Challenge is Forest Animals this month and the Design team have put together some wonderful cards for your inspiration. My card was made using a Digi Image from Nicecrane Designs, who sadly are no longer trading. I've chosen Squirrels and coloured them with pencils to be Red Squirrels, which are seen so rarely here in the UK although they are native to our shores. I've been lucky and seen these wonderful creatures, many years ago on Brownsea Island in Dorset where they have no Gray Squirrels.

One Layer Christmas Card

I was thrilled when I clicked on the Stamping Sensations Challenge blog at the end of last week and found out that I had won the October Challenge. For this months challenge they are asking for One Layer Christmas Cards. This is a challenge for me as in all of my years card making, I don't think I have ever made a one layer card. Until now that is. I've used a 6x6 white card blank, a piece of masking tape across the middle, Tim Holtz snowflake stamps and Distress oxides. I used a technique that Tim showed us a his recent workshop at Art From The Heart, which was to stamp with the Oxides and then quickly blend with a blending tool. The sentiment was from a set by Sheena Douglas.

Playtime

Friday morning I decided that my stencils which were house in 3 A4 boxes could do with sorting out. In my cupboard I had some 6x6 scrapbooks that were unused, they looked ideal for the 6x6 stencils. after a productive morning filling 4 6x6 scrapbooks with the 6x6 stencils and a clarity stencils book with the clarity stencils I was inspired to get out the inks and have a play in the afternoon. Below is the result. I started with the flower stencil (sorry I've had this stencil so long I can't remember where it comes from) and some gesso which was splodged though the stencil onto some white card, this acts as  resist for the inks over the top, which came next when the gesso was dried. Then I went back with the same colours and inked through the stencil. I chose colours that I would not normally reach for, Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and worn lipstick Distress Inks. Then I used a stencil from Peerless Designs which again I've had for sometime but it was unused. I inked through the stencil with Archival black and used the word dream from another unused Peerless Designs set at the bottom. Finally I highlighted some of the black before matting it onto a 7x7 card base.

I'm going to enter thins into the challenge over at Stamping Sensations which this month is anything goes.

Sing

This card was made while at Eileen's workshop last Saturday, well when I say made  the topper was made but not mounted onto a card base or matted up. So after a tidy around my craft room yesterday (it was defiantly a case of where is my workspace, rather than what's on it),I got around to finishing it off. I'm going to enter this into the Stamping Sensations challenge this month as it's Anything Goes. It was made using Visible Image stamps and Distress Inks plus a little water on a stencil.

18th Birthday

My card today has been made for a lovely young lady who will be 18 in a few days time. The flowers and the backing paper are from the Petunia Collection from Heartfelt Creations (I will to confess to having lots of their stamps and die sets). The card is an 8x8 base, then I used silver mirri card to mat the backing paper onto. The die cut square is from Tattered Lace and I kept the middle to stamp the sentiment onto, this was from Chocolate Baroque. I stamped and embossed the flowers with silver EB powder and then coloured using distress ink in Shaded Lilac and then Stampin Up ink in colours Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green. The flourishes are from Tattered Lace and finally the 18 Today is from All Occasion Dies.

Because of the shaping on the flowers the card needed a box to pop the card into. The cut out corners are from a Tim Holtz Sizzix die.

I'm going to enter this into the Stamping Sensations Challenge which this month is Anything With Flowers.

Sparkle And Bling, Buds And Blooms

While I was making this card I had two challenges in mind, Allsorts where the theme is Bring On The Bling and Lavinia which is Buds and Blooms. Then I realised that I could also enter it into the Stamping Sensations challenge which is Anything Goes and My Time To Craft with No Designer Papers. I started with an 8x8 card base then cut a piece of card that would fit, about 7 1/2 inch square. I blended distress inks all over the card. Then cut out one of the files from Lavinia on the Scan N Cut. I didn't just want to put this onto the top of the blended background, so next I used a circle die from Crealies and cut a hole in the centre that I could place the cut image under. Next I stamped onto both the circle cut with the die and the background and coloured with Pro Markers. I then cut a piece of black card to matt the background onto, but before doing this I place the circle onto the black card in the middle and then placed the cut image on top. I then glittered the wings if the fairy and with foam tape on the back placed the background over the top. I finished by adding some gems from my stash.
