CD Sunday - Go Green

This week's theme over on the CD Sunday blog is Go Green, picked by Jenny before she went on sabbatical. However for this week she has come back and joined us and will pick the lucky winner. There are beautiful samples over on the CD Sunday blog, with different interpretations of Go Green, Some have used the colour Green, and some have recycled, I decided to do both. When I first saw what the theme was to be for this week my mind went straight to recycling, I have 3 boxes with bits and pieces popped into them, pieces of card, off cuts from backing papers, stamped images that I've not got around to using or colouring in, I'm sure you get the picture. So with the green theme in mind I set about to find something I could put together, this was the end result. An A4 piece of centura card in pastel green, already folded, so I cut this down to a 6x6 card size, an off cut of dark green card for the matting, and also some of the die cut leaves. The backing paper is from Artylicious Essence of Nature CD, again from the box, and the butterfly also from the box. However at this point I should admit that this is one of my all time favourite stamps and I'm very often asked if I would make a butterfly card, this is the stamp, along with it's larger partner that I always go to first, so I always have some stamped somewhere. I coloured the butterfly using promarkers in shades of green and pink, and made the feelers out of some jewellery wire. The flowers were also made using some pearlesent paper in a very pale shade of green (doesn't show up well in the photo), and added some pink flat backed pearls to the centres. I found a small off cut of the lime green card which was just enough to make a couple more leaves. After adding all of this to the card, I finished with some flat backed pearls in green to the sides and a sentiment from a Chocolate Baroque set.

Thanks for taking the time to look, and you kind comments that are always appreciated.

Sue

I can well imagine your box of bits and pieces LOL!! (still trying to use mine up). This is such a pretty card and I love the flowers - not a die I recognise though. Great butterfly too of course.

This is absolutely beautiful Sue and you must be so chuffed to have got most of it from the bit box. I bet it didn't even make a dent in it though.

What a fabulous recycled card Sue. Love your flower spray and that butterfly is stunning. Thank you so much for my gift. The cd is full of gorgeous images and fantastic backing paper. Also love the flowers and the super handbag rubber stamps. I have someone in mind to use them for already! So happy to have received one of your stamped cards too. I have pinned it up in my craft room. Michelle x
