Rudolph Days

As today is the 25th of the month, it's time for the first Rudolph Days challenge of the year. Last year was the first year that I had taken part in any Christmas challenges and I'm so glad that I did, it made the Christmas rush so much easier as I had a great many cards already made. So to start my collection off for this year I used a stamp set from Stampin Up, one of the first that I bought from them and I'm also ashamed to say this was the first time that it had been inked. But you know what they say "better late than never". I found some off cuts of green and red in my scraps box and then with a separate sheet of the green made two A6 card bases. I stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder the tree and the sentiment onto some of the green card and then went around the edge with a gold pen. I then stuck some ribbon around the card and added a bow. Next I stamped the snowflake stamp around the edge of the card so that it was just visible when matted together, again I edged with the gold pen, before mounting all onto the green card bases. I now have the first two cards in my box ready.

Thanks for taking the time to look and your kind comments which are always appreciated.

Sue

These are so pretty. I love that stamp...I have it too. In fact it is in my "must use this year drawer!
Your gold embossing looks wonderful and thanks for the great tip to go around the edge of the card with the gold pen! Metallic papers are quite pricey here so this tip will be put to good use.

Thanks for taking part in the January Rudolph Days Challenge.

Sue, drop me an email if you have time...

These cards look so classy Sue. The gold against the green is just pure opulence. I really like your layout of the cards too and the red ribbon and bows just give them the perfect finish. It is a great idea to get ahead with our Christmas cards throughout the year and I may take a leaf out of your book and make more than one next month. Crafty hugs, Sandra x

Hi Sue, two stunning cards love the two embossed layers, I thought the red paper behind was a design paper until I read the details, you must have a very steady hand to draw so close to the edge looks amazing. Have a wonderful week... Megan
