Summertime

My card today was made with three challenges in mind, all asking for Summertime themed cards. I used Janet Kruskamp collection by Joanna Sheen, Printing the main image onto Glossy photo paper and the matching backing paper onto ink jet paper. I mounted these onto gold mirri card and before putting the topper down onto the card base I added a doily cut using a Marianne die which was distressed using Distress ink pads. I then added some flowers made using a Tattered Lace die and coloured using distress inks. I added some stickles to the flower centres to finish. As yet there is no sentiment, I shall pop this into my ready box for when I need a card like this.

Happy Birthday

I've made this card with the CD Sunday challenge in mind, which this time around is Spring colours. I love seeing the bluebells in the woods at this time of year with all of the trees leaves coming out and giving a lovely dappled light on the ground too. I knew exactly what CD I was going to use for this challenge as  soon as I saw it. It's the Pamela West Collection from Joanna Sheen. I used the matching backing papers that went with the topper for this card and some corners that I had cut in white card that I colour matched using a pro marker. I found some ribbon in my stash that matched so made a bow and added that too, plus the Happy Birthday which was cut from an All Occasions die. It's also CD Sundays 7th Birthday, so I would like to wish them Many Happy Returns.

I'm also going to enter this card into the Ooh La La Creations challenge this week too as they are asking for Birthday cards.

Something New

The challenge over on the CD Sunday blog at the moment is Something New and new to me is this gorgeous CD by Debbi Moore - Art Deco Elegant Moments. This card is for my Mum's birthday which is on Thursday. She has not got the Internet so I'm safe posting this on here now. The main image has been decoupaged and put onto the card with foam pads, so plenty of dimension going on, as I also cut out the border of of another backing paper and put this on with foam pads too. I've added flat backed pearls and some flowers made from my favourite Crealies die in a matching colour with gems in the centre. It had to be in green as this is her favourite colour

I would also like to enter this into the challenge over at Ooh La La which at the moment is Feminine and this card defiantly fits the bill.

CD Sunday - Faithful Friends

Time for another challenge on the CD Sunday blog again, this week we have a sponsor and it's Ooh La La.

They have given the design team one of their lovely CDs to play with - Faithful Friends, we've all had fun making cards with the images. Do pop over to the blog and have a look at what my fellow team mates have made. I chose to use the Bichon Frise puppy (my niece has a gorgeous Bichon called Charlie) and I've made the card for my Son to give to his cousin on her birthday later this year. The puppy is smelling a lovely purple flower, so I teamed the image with some purple mirri card I had in the cupboard. I added some lilac organza ribbon and some purple flowers I had already made.
