Faerie Poppet

After joining Judith and Forgotten Friday last week, I thought I would have to look a little further into my cupboard that has my stamps in to see what I could find for this week. I didn't get very far before I found a box with some wood mounted stamps. I don't have that many of them as I prefer to have the unmounted type. In the box I found 4 Faerie Poppets and I can't remember when I bought them. This is the one that I have decided to use, I'm sure I will be using the others in the future.



After Stamping the image and colouring it with promarkers, I stamped the image 2 times more with the first I cut out the wings so that when I masked the coloured one, I could spray through with Crafters Companion Iridescent glitter spray. Then with the other I cut around the whole image and with a duster brush added the yellow from a big and juicy ink pad. The backing paper is from MCS Another Walk In Wonderland. Ribbon and flowers from my stash. I'm off to have another rummage to see what I can use next week.

Friendship

I have made this card to enter the CD Sunday Challenge, this weeks theme is Friendship.


I have used My Craft Studio Papercraft Library Vol 1, Vol 3 and Vol 5 And More Than Words vol 3.
Volume 1, I used the colour picker to match a plain background with the shape, and then over layed the words background, which are all to do with friends and lowered the opacity on them so they were not as bold.
Volume 3, I used the Violet image already coloured and also the shapes. I picked the shape with the white middle and placed the image inside then I picked the solid shape and with the brightness slider changed the colour to white, enlarged it slightly and place behind the first. This gave the appearance that it had been matted onto white card.
Volume 5, I have only used the background sheet from this CD.
More Than Word is a Cd that is full of wonderful words that go with so many different occasions and I thought that these words I used could have been said just for this card.
I have finished off by adding some flowers and ribbon that I have in my stash.

I very often make cards using several of the MCS CDs as they all seem to go together so well.

Sarah Kay and Forgotten Friday

Last year at the Make It Show at Farnbourgh I bought this Sarah Kay stamp. When I got home I packed everything away (so DH could not see all that I had bought) and forgot all about this stamp. Whilst rummaging through my stamps the other day I found it and decided that it was time to use it. Then I noticed that Judith at Poppy Cottage is asking people to join her, by making something using forgotten Stamps or Stash. So I thought I would post the card here and join in. There is a link to Judith's blog at the side. Sorry I've not managed to find out how link yet.

I used the Sarah Kay stamp and coloured it with Promarkers, the backing paper is a freebie from Bearly Mine (again the link is at the side). I cut it out with an oval nestie, and also the mount, The border was cut using a Marianne die, and threaded with ribbon from my stash,

sentiment is from a Sheena Douglass sketchy stamp. Last of all is the flower which was from Fred Said.

CD Sunday Challenge

At long last I have made a card to enter into a Challenge. I always visit the CD Sunday Challenge blog, and promise myself that I am going to join in. So here it is, my entry for Love Is In The Air.



My main image has been stamped using House Mouse from Joanna Sheen, the sentiment was from the same stamp sheet. I coloured them using Promarkers, the ribbon and flowers I had in my stash. The backing papers are Funky Heart's CD from Carol Ann's Studio.

80th Birthday

I can't believe that it's 2 months since I last posted on here. Between Christmas, sick In-laws and a dose of Flu myself I have not felt like doing a lot of crafting. I'm glad to say that I over it now though and I'm back in the craft room.

This is a card that I made for my Mum who turned 80 this month. I used Cupcake Crafting CD 17, The Designer Collection for this one. As usual I've made an 8x8 card, the corners are from a Marianne die and I just popped some gems onto them. The ribbon that I added looks better on the card than it does in the photo, which seems to have changed the colour of the background sheet slightly. Lastly the greeting was put through the foiler.

House Mouse

I'm trying to be good and post on my blog a bit more regularly. So today I thought I would share this card that I made using the House Mouse decoupage. I think these images are so cute, another thank you to Joanna Sheen. I'm back to my favorite size again (8 x 8) made from 2 sheets of cream A4 card stock. The backing paper is from Artylicous Seasons Greetings CD, by the wonderfully talented Glenda Waterworth from Graphicus (this is my Favorite Christmas CD with loads of wonderful backing papers). The wording on this backing paper is from The Night Before Christmas and suited this image so well. The decoupage was mounted onto a piece of gold mirri board. I added some gold ribbon and a poinsettia made with a Marianne Creatable Die. Then I added 3 small mice that I did not put onto the main decoupage.

A Winter's Tale

Today I though I would show you this card that I made using A Winter's Tale. A beautiful CD with lots of lovely images for Christmas cards. I've kept this one very simple just a decoupaged topper and backing paper which I have used a Martha Stewart border punch on. I rounded the corners with a punch, and added a bit of glitter to the snow. Then a foiled greeting popped on just to finish. It's very cold here in Hampshire this morning, with a heavy frost but no snow although the local radio station is saying that we could get some flurries. Tomorrow hubby is going fishing!!! so he's hoping that it stays clear.

Thomas Kinkade Christmas

Well I have no excuses for my lack of blogging in the last 2 weeks. I have been busy trying to get some Christmas cards made. Every year I say I will start earlier, but it gets to November and I find that I have none made. Today I thought I would show you the Thomas Kinkade card that I made for my mother-in-law to send to her brother.

I first saw Thomas Kinkade pictures on a trip to Florida back in 2004 and every time we go back, I have to go and look at the wonderful pictures that are in his shop. Now anytime I want to look at them all I have to do is get Joanna Sheen's CDs out and pop them into the PC. Thank you Joanna for this wonderful library of pictures. For this card I used the decoupage section and an 8 x 8 card base, gold mirri board, a backing sheet from the CD and a bit of gold ribbon. The sentiment was made using my foiler. I added lots of glitter to the snow in the picture which does not show in the photo.

Enchanted Fairies

In the post the other day I received the pick of the week that was on recently, Enchanted Fairies. The images are stunning, I just had to make one. As it's near to Christmas I decided to make the Holly Fairy. I made an 8 X 8 card (my favorite size) in green, printed 2 different background papers and mounted them onto some red mirri card. Added a bit of ribbon and a foiled greeting. Once I have finished getting my Christmas cards made I will enjoy making some of the others.

New My Craft Studio Samples

Today I thought that I would share some of the cards that I made as samples for the new MCS that was released this week. Paper Flower and Paper Words. The first card I made using a No Stamp Required image of rose's. This I printed out using a laser printer and then putting the images through a foil embossing machine. I then coloured the smaller image with pro makers mounted onto some silver mirri card and finally onto a red 8 X 8 card. I finished it off using a foiled greeting and some roses from my stash that I put some silver stickles on, and added some red and silver ribbons.

The next card again I foiled using No Stamp Required images and again coloured with pro markers. The base for the butterflies was made using spellbinders nesties. I used an ink pad and sponge to add the colour around the edge of the card and topper, added a bit of ribbon and a flower from my stash.

This card was made using elements that were on the disc, I just printed them off, cut them out and put them together. I added a bow at the top and decoupaged some of the flower around the edge.

This finale one is an easel card which I made using spellbinders nesties and a topper from the labels section on the disc. added some gems around the outside of the card and a small bow with a gem stuck on top to match those around the outside.
