February Rudolph Days

Wow nearly the end of February already, where did this month go. As it's the 25th today it's time for another Rudolph Days Challenge over at Scrappymo's. As normal Maureen has a choice of two wonderful prizes for the winner that will be chosen at random. Do pop across to the blog and take a look at the inspiration cards and why not join in the fun. For my card this month I really wanted the traditional look so I've used Tim Holtz's Scenic Holiday. I stamped in blue ink then just blended a lighter blue over the top when the ink is dry. I then mounted onto some silver mirri card and some navy card with a little silver ribbon across the middle. This was then mounted onto a 6x6 card base.

I made 4 to go into my stash box ready to be shared between my Mum, Father-in-law and myself.

Make It Girly

Make It Girly is the new challenge this week over on the Allsort Blog. So I got out the Pink Ink designs again and inked up this beautiful image of a mermaid sitting on a shell. Coloured it with Alcohol pens and distress inks blended for the background.

Classy Bird

Another Pink Ink card today, this time for the Stamping Sensations Challenge. They are asking for Feminine Creations this month. I used an 8x8 card base for this card and some teal coloured card for the matting. I coloured using alcohol pens and then some distress ink pads for the blended background. The bird is also coloured in teals and greens as these are the recipients favourite colours.

Hare

I'm here today with a card made for two challenges, Penny Black and More and Make My Monday Challenge. Penny Black is asking for cards with Animals, Birds and Butterflies and Make My Moday are asking for Critters. I think this Hare should cover both challenges although I've not got a bird on there. I used the Hare from the Pink Ink fantastic stamp range for this card, first stamping the image onto some white card stock and then adding the flowers, butterflies and swirly ferns around the edges. I coloured everything in using alcohol ink markers and then blended some distress ink around the outside of the card. Finally I finished it by adding some nuvo drops to the hare and the flower centres. It's now in the post to someone who is feeling under the weather at the moment, in the hopes that this will cheer her day.

Anniversary Card

My card today is one that has been made for my Nephew and his wife, but this is for my Faather-in-law to give to them. It's been made using My Craft Studio's Floriography CD. The middle panel has been raised with some foam tape although it looks flat in the picture. Then with what was left over from the bottom of the paper I made some matching flowers, just going around the edge with a little matching ink. As I've used a CD for this card I'm popping over to the CD Sunday challenge to join in the fun, where the theme is anything goes

Add A Heart

Just popping in at the end of a busy day today (we look after my nearly 11 month old grandson Mondays) to show this quick and simple Anniversary card. I used a Tonic die and some scraps from my bulging scrap box for the Heart and a Chocolate Baroque stamp from the sentiment. The backing paper came from a pad that I bought a show quite a few years ago. I've been busy recently and hope to show you what I've been making in a couple of days, until then I'm off to join in with the challenge at the Allsorts blog this week where they would like you to Add a Heart. I'm also to going join in the fun over and Pixies Snippets Playground, you just need to use some of your scraps.

Recycling For Rudolph Days

I'm glad to say that I seem to have got rid of all of my bugs and germs and I've been busy recycling. I went through all of the Christmas cards that we received this year the handcrafted cards have gone into a separate box while the rest have been deconstructed and remade into other cards. The featured card here just needed a bit of sparkly paper as matting and an insert to be popped in. Below is a small selection of the others that I have recycled. It has certainly given me a head start of my card making for Christmas 2020. I'm off now to enter the first Rudolph Days Challenge this year, Maureen has a choice of prizes for the lucky person who will be chosen at random to win.

My Favourite Stamps And A Do Over Please

After the last two months of last year when I was either just getting over a cold and cough, or getting another I was pleased to see the start of the New Year while still suffering from what I hoped was the last of a series of colds that we were being handed around the family. To be honest it was why It took me so long to get blogging again this year. But that was not to be the case. At the beginning of last week after posting my Mum's birthday card I decided to make my card for the Stamping Sensations challenge which is My Favourite Stamp this month. As most of you will know I LOVE LAVINIA STAMPS, I even made my calendar with them last year and I was loathed to throw it away. So I set about recycling it and managed to make the pictures that I saved into 10 cards. I had just finished them when it felt like I had run into a wall and took myself to bed on Wednesday. By Thursday morning I was sure that I had the dreaded Tonsillitis and this was confirmed by the Doctor and a prescription for Antibiotics. I'm glad to say that I'm beginning to feel better, but the antibiotics have given me an awful unproductive cough which I'm hoping will go away when I finish all the pills. Hence the title of my blog post and the request for the Do Over, I really would like to start this year over again. The card below is My favourite scene from the Calendar, and the scene that I used for July. There are to many of Lavinia's Stamps that I love that I can't just pick one.

Say It With Flowers

Sorry that I have been absent for a while. but what with Christmas and New year and then hubby bought me a new PC and it's taken a week or so to get everything sorted out and installed. Yesterday was my Mum's 89th Birthday and this is the card that I made for her. It uses paper and flowers from the Peony collection from Heartfelt and also some gorgeous Peridot coloured mirri card that came from Crafters Companion in one of their packs. The sentiments came from Creative Crafting World. I'm glad to say that she loved it. It just so happens that the challenge over on the Allsorts blog this week is Say It With Flowers, so I'm going to pop across and join the fun this week.
